Search around Badweatherbikers for the username Slaughter -- ask him.

Go to a school where you learn something more than just the administrative and etiquette part.

Well, Visionsports is kind of an outcast program. LOL! Usually a racer's second school after they do the licensing program. And some people never mention that they came.

I'm retired myself as of just recently, but I'll have an amount of involvement for a while. Last school of the year is Wednesday September 24th. All day long. Julian Soell has been a regular student probably for five years. One can call Blackhawk direct at 815-389-2000 do enroll. I can't say if there are any spots available, but Cindy at the track would know.

Since you're in Kenosha, you're looking at WERA and CCS racing most likely. Not sure which commercial operations offer the school but you can check CCS and WERA websites for info for your area. When CCS was out here (F-USA) - they offered new racer school every race weekend - usually on the Friday before race day.

Start hanging out on their Forums and post up as a Newbie. Racing discussions don't get into the pissing contests so often seen in sportbike discussions - since nobody has anything to try and prove "ONLINE" - and they're going to be facing you on the track! Makes for much more polite conversations that way!

Tony,

I shot you an email.

I might be out in WI area sometime this Winter (Family lives in Slinger/West Bend)

You really should see about getting to a local race to meet some of the guys/gals doing racing to ask them about some of the local info and check out the schools. Don't know how much longer your season lasts out there. Generally October is the end of the year. Don't know if they offer school after that. You ought to call somebody at WERA or CCS and see if there's a way to get a license before March next year when the season starts up again. Here in CA the only month we don't race is December.

Hey Tony,
I would suggest doing both Learning Curves and Visionsports. I took my certification with Learning Curves on May 10th and did Visionsports on August 20th with Scotty Ryan. I learned a lot through both groups-money well spent. I plan on entering my first races this weekend at Blackhawk, if I can get off work. I would also suggest getting in as many Track Days as you can, it really helped me this year. Good Luck!

Hey Slaughter-if you are up here this winter, you'd better plan on stopping by. BTW, thanks for the posting on Higbee. That's some serious racing!
