High Country H-D/Buell has a specially prepared 2008 XB12TT doing time & tune testing on the mountain this weekend. Rumor has it BMW declined to race again this year leaving it wide open for a Buell to win the 1200cc class. |

I race with several of those guys in RallyMoto. What a great bunch! Regular guys, working a job and having fun with their bikes. Man, I wish I could swing doing Pikes Peak. Maybe next year. (Message edited by rubberdown on June 14, 2008) |

BMW entered four HP2 Megamoto bikes last year and they are not returning with them this year. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page.aspx?Ar ticleID=5058&Page=1 Yes, the impressive list you provided are in the 1200 class, and one of them is on the XB12TT I talked about. A couple of us will be on the mountain at sunrise 15June, gates open at 5:30. ~jammer |

Then who was this? Jammin you remember that white van what was in front of you on the way up the mountain? Thats my friend Robin(242) who is racing in the 750 class. He said he had a couple of Buells tailing him. Thought maybe it was you.

*** busted *** don't be telling my kids, they thought I slept in on Father's Day! Instead, I busted out at 2:30am to meet a friend in order to make the mountain gate by 5:30. Little did we know, as we were riding in 40 degree temps the gates were opened at 4:30. If it were not for Robin in the tall white Ford van with really, really beefy suspension (no sway as he high -tailed it up the mountain at hot speeds) the Ranger Red Neck at the gate was not letting us through. I think it is a control thing. Testing was done by 9:00am as they let the general public on the road. I was home in time to cook steaks on the grill. ~jammer |

Then who was this? That would be five time winner, ten time 2nd place finisher, and one of our riders. On the right is Max, our super tuner, and in the middle I believe is a guy Davey Durelle's camp. Davey's a class act. Ten time winner, he owns the mountain on a motorcycle and they have been very informative to our efforts. ~jammer |

"I think this is the guy on the Buell: Kopp, Joe 1200cc #3 Mica, WA" Nope. Come to the High Country H-D/Buell pre-race activities Friday 18July in Co Sprgs to meet him if you want to be sure. ~jammer |

So what is Joe riding? Robin told me who was riding #3 but its showing Kapp in the registration page. The big white van is called the Baloooooga! Are you guys going to practice again 28th weekend? I was thinking about heading down with Robin and spectating and helping him that weekend if I can swing it. |

We plan on doing more testing, including the weekend of 28June. I am not sure I will make it that time though. Brian Anderson is our rider, not Joe Kopp. ~jammer |

Yea. He used to be the king of the mountain back in the day before Davey. I am excited about watching him blast the mountain on a Buell! Robin said he got sand blasted by him. Hope he can beat that Duc! |

From Moab to Snow fields above the tree line, Joules knows how to "Ride the World". Of course being the more adventurous Barricade Orange, that should go without saying. (note the windscreen decals)

Duc, duck, gonna be a goose... Not overly impressive in tire & tune testing 14-15June on the mountain, this was the only Ducati seen that weekend.

grew up in Colorado Springs. I have been up the mountain tons of times. Never done the race though.... I need to push the dirty City-X'r up that Mt. What do you need to 'race' prepare the Buell for this event? Not looking to win, I have no delusions of that, but finish in a fast pace, challenge the road and keep her up right. And of course to put my City-X at 14110 |

I've ridden up that hill as fast as I could, scaring myself half to death. I mean the dropoffs are insane. Then I watched the videos of the real PP racers. OMG! Balls of steel, man. |
