Rossi's got his mojo back. There'll be not stopping him by the likes of Pedro the motorcycle racing elf. |

There was a 8km/h speed advantage for Rossi's M1 over Pedrosa's RCV. It was the speed advantage that won the race for Rossi. |

Top speed only helps if you are close enough to the competition on the straight. For someone with Rossis skill, it is a big advantage... especially if the bike is handling well. |

The stars were all in alignment for sure, but I don't see Rossi going back into his previous domination mode. At least I hope not, this is great racing. |

"The Doctor" is ALWAYS exciting to watch, even when he's winning. Why? Because unlike Stoner's dominance last year, Rossi seldom made it look easy. For one thing, I can't ever remember him winning a flag-to-flag race. Even when he's on pole, he tends to have a LOUSY start so he has to pick his way through the pack and up to the front. Compare that to Stoner last year who launched out of the starting gate and never looked back on the races he won. Very few riders can lose as many positions as Rossi at the beginning of the race and yet still manage a win. That's what makes exciting racing. Good video on the main page of the MotoGP website: http://www.motogp.com/en/ |

Rossi "...has a LOUSY start...so he has to pick his way through the pack and up to the front." Yeah, but he is so good at passing and getting there. In the last race, he was setting fastest lap records in the final laps. That is nothing new for Rossi...but it seems to be very difficult for anybody else. |

At least I hope not, this is great racing. yes, it is MUCH better than the Stoner-show last year, but I find myself looking forward to the WSBK races. Personally, I think the World Supersport classs is the most exciting in all of racing...among the televised stuff--MotoGP, WSBK & AMA. |

honestly, you cant say something else is more fun then motoGP. that is like saying highschool footbal is more fun then NFL. or saying Nascar is more fun then F1. |

honestly, you cant say something else is more fun then motoGP. that is like saying highschool footbal is more fun then NFL. There is definitely something to be said for the "best of the best" racing, but that alone doesn't make it great racing IMO. It might be a better spectacle, but that is a different aspect. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy MotoGP quite a bit for the above reason and this certainly isn't a slam on GOtoGp as much as it is praise for WSBK. Certainly this season, it is MUCH better in MotoGp as the race winner is not a foregone conclusion, however that doesn't always mean exciting racing either. In China, it was fun for the first few laps, but then Rossi basically checked out for the last 1/3 of the race--not real exciting. And did Stoner even see a bike behind or in front of him for most of the race? Talk about lonely. My definition of "fun" is constant passing, crazy bonzai moves & the lead pack looking more like a freight train, rather than a couple riders maintaining position. Example: Check out the World Supersport race two weekends ago in Assen. Doesn't get a whole lot better than that. 2/3 thirds of the race through and the lead pack was 12 deep and separated by less than 2 seconds. |

I have to agree with Fresno. MotoGP is of course exciting, but for sheer racing spectacle you can't beat classes where the bikes are so closely matched such as World Supersport and 125GP racing. These are the last classes at world level where a relatively low budget talented privateer can still run with the leaders, and where races are almost invariably decided on the last corner of the last lap! |

I'm sorry, but NASCAR is one of the dumbest racing classes I've ever seen. There's nothing "Stock" about those "Stock Cars" (unless you can show me where I can buy a two-door Taurus with rear wheel drive and a pushrod V-8 engine from the showroom). Buncha rednecks who can drive fast and turn left... |

Much like... NASCAR. Not at all, they turn left AND right in WSS & 125GP. And I did say at World level. More importantly still......NASCAR is car racing, so is intrinsically boring before the flag even drops |

Spies gets his shot! He's been confirmed a wild card ride at Laguna Seca (a track he knows VERY well) and at Indianapolis (a track only Nicky Hayden has seen so far). This should be interesting. Ben will also have a day of testing at Indy before the Grand Prix in September... |

Rossi is DEFINITELY BACK! I can't help but think that when Lorenzo is back to 100% fitness we could see a Spies/Mladin type rivalry in MotoGP this year... And boy has Yamaha sorted out the M1 over the off-season, huh?? Looks like the gremlins that plagued them last year have moved over to the Ducati garage... |

The surprise of the day for me was Edwards, what a great result. What was with the broken chains today? Hopkins and Stoner both had failures. |

Stoner's chain didn't break. His problem was engine electronics. Only Hopkins threw a chain. If ONLY they had superior BELT technology. |

Suddenly the 'Rossi is past it' brigade have gone very quiet What a show of superiority he put on at Mugello, and it was typical of Rossi that on the slow down lap he took time to congratulate Alex De Angelis on his 4th place. I think Rossi still has a good few seasons left in him yet |

And I forgot to mention, Rossi was sporting his best helmet design yet! Every time the camera shot showed him in a head on shot I had a laughing fit! Top class, and you just can't imagine any other top MotoGP rider doing anything like it
