Bob, that's great news, look forward to seeing you again. Essjay, look forward to meeting you. Jim, nope, it's a secret, you have to come to Bonneville to see it Bmg: it's supposed to help power but I've tested it multiple times and if it's changing the power, it's beneath my threshold to measure it. All: the really cool thing about that bike is the motor. We pulled out all the stops and it exceeded our expectations. Sorry I can't share more. It ain't no street motor, that's for sure. If it lives, it oughta to be fast. |

>>>Man I love hearing that from some guy that can't ride to the mall without heated grips and a volume adjusting stereo system Susan Wilson, for the record, is no stranger to skillfully operating a vewhicle at speed. I know, although I don't know the details, he career involves a fast car. I do know, from personal experience, that I've followed directly behind her on the S-1 in the triple digits. I ended up as her "wing man" and never had one iota of concern. Think of all those $$ you've spent on power...now imagine if you were about 73# soaking wet! SUSAN FOR PRESIDENT ! |

"The S-2 is about ready"Roc,glad to hear that you are planning on making it.Was it our brilliant prose pleading for your stellar appearance that did the trick?? And my S-2 is near ready, also.I Salt-awayed everythig that wasn't nailed down today--Yamaha,Suzuki pitbike,S-2,1968 Jawa, truck etc. Number plates on Derbi and S-2.Cleaned all the oil off S-2(Ihad one of those neophyte moments, had oil tank off and when I put it back on I filled it up--forgetting that bike had been sitting forever without being run.SO,when I started it in barn, leaned over bars watching tach,I hear this WHUMP!! and suddenly there is oil everywhere---hair,back,roof and walls of barn, what a freakin' mess,DUH!!!!)But,all clean now, sucked about a quart more out, bodywork all on,ready to pack and go!!!! |

I will be unable to make it to Bonneville. Anyone needing a roundtrip ticket from NYC to SLC, let me know. If anyone is interested in assuming the "food king" role, drop ma a note and the funds from the ELF CHOW sales will be sent to you ASAP. Failing that, we'll let folks kinda fend for themselves and the ELF CHOW refunds will be sent. Also, anyone who is interested in selling the few remaining shirts, let me know and I'll make arrangements to get them to you. We, by the way, have sold AL the XL's. Essjay: No problemo..... Basically an exercise in determining the number of folks, heading off to buy food, and making sure someone is cooking and has meals for the group. Folks bringing trailers will be bringing a variety of grills, pots, pans and so forth. I'm sure some one will be bringing a largish coffee pot. There are very few people actually registered this year and I suspect therer will be many more folks that are registered. I'd size up the ACTUAL crowd, high tail it to the Costco warehouse (shopping in Wendover is pretty much a beer and beans deal) and buy up the food. Paul and Spidey have offered to handle coking duties and I can testify to Paul's abililty. I'd also plan on having plenty of ice and keeping a good supply of water on hand. The last 2 years we've had a "no alchohol" during the day policy whihc I'd suggest you abide by as well. Water works well on the Salt Flats. Let me know if she's interested and I'll get Jim Bantz to forward the funds. Have her keep all the receipts and when the event is over send the receipts and any remainging funds to Jim. Court |

Ok Court- as Macy posted, she is happy to do the shopping/money tracking/responsibility/organising thing. Just don't ask her to cook- she is a great cook but this is supposed to be a vacation for her. We will be on 2 wheels so she will need a car or a car/driver to be able to go shopping. I assume you meant the COSTCO would be in Salt Lake City which is what, 250+ miles round trip from Wendover? So that would be most of the day on Thursday? There is a large supermarket in West Wendover which has all the stuff like a Thriftway/Albertsons/Safeway store. Would it be possible for someone coming from the east to stop and stock up at Costco in SLC on the way through and then fill out the list in West Wendover? Macy is willing to do the trip to SLC, I was just looking for a way to simplify the logistics. Won't Paul be traveling from Denver with Aaron? Seems like he would have a good idea of what supplies he wants for cooking? Or is that a different Paul? So many question, so little time..... essjay |
