Hey Marc,

Here is what the Central Motorcycle Racing Association requires to pass tech:

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Keith,
What is the safety pin looking doohicky on your dipstick and where can I get one? Is that legal for most race orgs?

Hello Kurt,

The safety pin doohicky is available at most hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot) in the nuts and bolts area. Look for the specialty hardware in drawers and you'll find these in various sizes. Works great!

It's legal in the Central Motorcycle Racing Association which closely follows CCS but I don't know where else it is legal.

Marc,

Check the rules in your race organization. MOST of them will let you secure your oil lines with a bead of silicone rubber squeezed on each threaded fitting to prevent it from turning. Much easier.

Hello Marc,

The belly pan is a Buell race item, available through most H-D/Buell dealerships. They may look at you like you are crazy but tell them to call Henry Duga. I purchased mine from Appleton Buell/H-D, one of our BadWeB sponsors.

And, you are correct. I didn't properly wire the oil line nuts.

ZX,

The belly pan is $150 from your local Buell Dealer. You may have to do some trimming, and you have to drill your own holes. If you can get a hold of Coolice here on Badweb, he has a very simple mounting system for the pan.
