James Toseland has just confirmed to MCN that he has signed with the Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP squad for next year. Speaking exclusively to MCN, James Toseland said: “It is very difficult for me to say very much at the moment – but I can say that I have signed with Yamaha and will be riding for them next year. “Honda wanted me to stay with them, but that was in World Superbike. As far as MotoGP goes with Honda, well they have a very long list of riders for their MotoGP slots. “The final details about the deal, such as the team structure and what tyres will be used have yet to be decided.” It is widely acknowledged that the Tech 3 team will run the same Michelin tyres as the official factory Yamaha team for 2008, and that the bikes will be the same spec as Rossi gets, so many peoples premonitions of doom, gloom and a future at the rear of the grid for James may be premature. |

I think Toseland chose well. After this year he will be WSBK champion for his second time in 2 different bikes. There is no point staying in WSBK. Another good rider leaving Honda. Good luck James! |
