Probably have a race report soon as I get some pics (and get back from Laguna Seca) Jeff Dixon racing Glendale's XBRR just took second after leading most of the Willow Springs Formula Twins race yesterday - being out-maneuvered in the last two turns by Claudio Szyskowski on his 999R Ducati. Considering that Dixon and the Glendale crew had the bike setup and geared for the Streets of Willow track and had setup the bike on the "Big Track" on Saturday, they were pushing it a bit. Sunday they decided to go with Dunlops since the Pirelli were a bit off on traction in the heat (may not have been a wise choice since the Dunlops have a taller profile but I digress...) Sunday's race saw Dixon pull into the lead on lap 2 and trade lead off and on til the last lap. Exciting stuff - better race report to follow. The XBRR LIVES - though now the team has their work cut out for them and much homework to do on getting the bike properly setup and spending some more time on the dyno to get the VP fuel map working properly. Considering this was Dixon's FIRST race on the bike and Claudio has been racing the 999 for two seasons now, I'm putting money on Dixon's winning next month! Nice seeing Dixon LEADING most of the race - even though he finished second, he gets a pretty big check from Buell as contingency payout! (Message edited by slaughter on July 17, 2007) |

Woohoo! That's great news Steve! Another great XBRR showing against a Ducati. Sounds like a real spectator treat to be able to see and hear those battling for the win. Congratulations to Jeff Dixon and all the folks supporting the XBRR effort at Glendale! |

That's great stuff ! It's quite amazing how the Buell isn't that far off the theoretically superior Ducatis. The rider helps too, but the speed and performance of the XBRR constantly impresses me. We run Dunlop slicks, and if we can help with any tips on compounds or set-up, feel free to ask. We had a bit of a bummer of a weekend at Le Mans this weekend. Dave has my write-up, and will have photos and more details once everything dries out... |

Sounds like great racing, and I would have loved to have seen it. Formula Twins, what racing organization is that under...would that be AHRMA or is it the Willow Springs racing club? Maybe I can catch it if it is AHRMA and it comes to the east. (Message edited by jimidan on July 28, 2007) |

Formula Twins is Willow Springs Motorcycle Club. Dixon's second place finish earned him $2000 of Buell's money! Pic is on lap 2 or 3 - Dixon led off and on until the last turn of the last lap - trading the lead with Claudio (Duck 999R #22). By the end of the race, they were out in front by themselves. fun stuff for certain (Message edited by slaughter on July 29, 2007) (Message edited by slaughter on July 29, 2007) |

Next race is 19 August. We hope that he will run BOTH the RR in Formula Twins and also the XB in Middleweight and Heavyweight Twins. It will be good for him to get more exposure - and with more points, it is possible that he might go AMA next season ... not certain. |
