Let the Buell Race!

2007 Isle of Man Senior TT
Go Irish Ago Racing!

Please join BadWeB's effort to help Kevin (Irish Ago) Murphy and his team, Irish Ago Racing, with their historic first ever Buell entry in the Isle of Man Senior TT race this year. This year is the 100th anniversary for the Isle of Man racing event; it is going to be HUGE! How cool would it be to have a veteran IOM racer like Irish Ago campaigning a Buell around the legendary 37 mile road course!

But first Kevin needs some help! Kevin has submitted his Buell entry for the 2007 Isle of Man Senior TT. But it is not a foregone conclusion that Kevin's Buell entry will be accepted. The Buell does not technically qualify in any of the standard classes, so it is being entered via the "any bike we think is interesting" rule, so its acceptance is completely up to the race organizers. This is the rule that saw the Norton rotary, the Britten and various GP bikes entered over the years. The more interest shown by race fans, the better the probability of getting Kevin's Buell approved for the race.

How can we help? For now we can post and get as many others to post enthusiastically about the Buell entry on Irish Ago Racing's guest book, here and on the following official IOM TT web site thread that the TT folks are likely to notice.

Irish Ago Racing's guest book

IOMTT.com

Some more information: Kevin "Irish Ago" Murphy has been asked to ride the custom XB12R racebike by its new owner, Mr. Peter Astell-Burt of C&C Ramsey Ltd, of the Isle of Man. Inerestingly this is the very same bike that started out as an XB12X, and which was customized for racing by our very own Matt Purdy of Trojan Horse/Adrenaline Moto.

Kevin is a long time TT racer with 19 finishes under his belt. Once the entry is accepted he will begin the process of getting ready for the TT. He enjoys the services of Anthony "Slick" Bass, former mechanic for Carl Fogarty, so the bike is in very good hands.

The way qualifying works at the TT is that each race has a minimum average speed. Anyone who laps above that speed is in. For this year's Senior TT that speed is 110 MPH, so Kevin will not be standing around; that's for sure.

Hopefully we can help get his entry accepted by awakening the racing enthusiasts here and displaying some of that Buell enthusiasm that BadWeB is famous for. Posting on the above links would help as would more enthusiastic chatter here.

Kevin is going to be checking in here regularly, so ask questions, make comments, etc. : )

Kevin's web site at www.irishagoracing.info/ provides additional information. Check it out. : )

Possible Class for TT 2008 add your thoughts to this one as the powers that be are talking about it now and the buell Thread made in excess of 130.000 hits. I think it is one way to go all you had to do is look at Mark Millars results from TT 2007 on a European Twin. When you list the Manufacturers who produce Twins Triples and Singles their are quite a few . Ducati . Aprillia . Mondial . BMW . KTM . Triumph . Honda . Kawasaki . Yamaha . Suzuki . Buell . CCM . Voxan . Hyosung . they are the only ones i can remember at this time. As i said in an erlier post you could split them into to 2 classes.

Class one for Unlimited Twins up to 1450cc with Triples to 1000cc and Class 2 for Twins to 750cc with Triples to 675cc and 900cc Singles let them run after market Chassies and the like it would be like a prototype class or call it Extream Twins Triples and Singles just a thought for now..... cheers Irish Ago...

Hi Guys and Gals Irish Ago here well the Buell thread has reached 216,00 hits on the iomtt.com and thats in less than 4 months well just to let you all know its not over till its over we are gearing up for TT 2008 already. Im having a serious look at the New Buell 1125 with a view to Racing it for the whole season next year where ever we can gain an entry weather it be the TT Races The Northwest 200 or the Southern 100 ill also race it locally in the Twins class. So come on lets get the ball rolling now and get organised early. The new Buell is priced here at about $18.000 USD i think i might have found a sponsor already will let you all know more after the MGP as im riding in the 250cc Classic Race at that event Thank you all again for your ongoing support in my efforts with the Buell Ride Safe and Free Always Irish Ago...

Thanks Kevin for the update. Good luck on your plans for 2008. If you are able to secure sponsorship and a Buell 1125R ride, that would be excellent, so be sure to let us all know.

Good Luck with the PTB on getting into the TT races with the Buell. They are probably too afraid that Buell will overtake their fragile class of expensive race bikes.

Hi Kevin,
Looked for you at Willow yesterday. I found your bike on a trailer (sans top end) but not you. I hope you had a great time at Willow anyway. Fill us in on the particulars, if you care to?
Cheers ... Asbjorn
