Josh,

I'm trying to get the Company to send me out to DFW area in time to be at the TWS races (6-7 Oct)

Not sure if I can pull it off or not. If I do, I'll help Nate Weber in the pits but I'd like to stop in to say HI. (Nate works for our Company in Ft Worth)

Stay tuned

Josh,
Unfortunately there is no big bike endurance racing at Oak Hill Raceway. The pit road/pathway is egregiously inadequate to handle it. You would have some fun in the GT type races on Saturday and in the varous sprints races on Sunday.

Josh,
Me and a few friends are planning on going to TWS Sunday, are you running any of the sprints or endurance only?

I saw on the cmra site that there is a spectator lap on Sunday after lunch, does anyone know any details about that?

I have been checking this site out for a while, but this is my first post, maybe I'll quit being so quiet

Thanks Blake, Really like the Badweb.

Good luck Josh.

Tripp,

Unfortunately the CMRA has recently taken to guided parade spectator type laps. They used to just let everyone loose. Now you have to follow at a snail's pace a big pickup truck.

Thanks for the kind words. : ) Nice to hear from you.

Sorry to say... we won't be there this weekend. We broke the transmission in our bike and are waiting for parts right now : (.

We still needed to squeeze another 10 minutes of fuel out of it to be competitive with pit stops too. We can't get it on the dyno to tune if we don't have a tranny.

There will be two more test sessions for us before the year is out and hopefully we'll have the bike set up nicely by then.

Bummer. Can you elaborate on the tranny failure?

Well the first time, we completely sheered the main shaft in two . That was the only one to do this. It appears to have been a major manufacturing problem. It just plain ripped in two. The bike had about 5-6 hours of track time at this point. Buell sent us another main shaft free of charge to fix it. Pretty generous for a company on a race only no warranty implied bike eh?

All is good to go. We goto the track last time, it runs great until the very last session. The clutch lever begins pulsating, more like slapping the riders left hand, and at that moment, the rear wheel locks (on a straight thank goodness). Our rider slides it to a stop from around 80 mph or so.

After inspection when we got back, the bolt that holds the counter-shaft against the bearing on the primary side began backing out, allowed side play and locked the bike into two gears.

I'll write this off to us needing to put it together better, but at the time, and currently there is no service information for this bike. We used stock XB procedure on a not stock XB tranny... oops. We're not mad about the bike breaking, just thankful that it didn't happen in a corner.

We have parts on the way and should be back at the track on the 22nd. Hopefully we will have fuel mileage where it needs to be also.

Until we can successfully run the bike for over 4 hours, we won't take it racing.

I was weary to post this news as some love to bash Buell reliability. Here is the truth, though. Spit at it if you want, but we think it will make one heck of a race bike for a truely privateer level effort.

You may want to ask Slaughter if you can license his cartoon character depicting the stubborn Buell. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Sure is great to see such a positive attitude. Do you have another bike that you could run, a stock XB in race trim? That would seem valuable to help you get to know the track and your way around down there. Wish I could help.

We are looking into a second RR for a backup : D. I know where a couple are for sale still. Sure is nice to have a GREAT shop owner who likes Buells.
