From moto-station.com

can someone translate?

If they do show up, follow their progress at http://www.worldendurance.co.uk/

rough translation

Saturday September 16, the XBRR will take part in its second race in France at the time of the finale of the Protwin Challenge. The race will proceed 9h35 with 9h55, in prologue of the Gold 2006 Bowl, on the circuit of Magny-Course. At the time of its first race test in Ledenon, the XBRR of the TEAM Macadam Motor bike (Montpellier) had offered a beautiful 5th place, controlled by Michel Amalric. Arrived to France at the beginning of the summer, this sporting is thus on the way to confirm a very sharpened potential. Let us guarantee that it there will have large spectacle next Saturday on the track of the Bowl and brawls keen with the pack of the Italians and other accustomed Japanese women of the test. One in any case awaits the fans of the mark to support their queen.

Ok, sorry about that, not the actual World Endurance Race.

But they'll be on the same track this weekend during the 20 minute ProTwin race, good for them, glad they're out there, go Buell!

That is awesome! I'd love to talk to that team to see what fuel mileage they are getting (with what fuel) and tire compounds.

Go Buell!

Macadam Moto is a dealership (actually two).

Here's one of their racing pages:
http://www.macadam-moto.com/98texte1.htm

They won the French Harley cup in '95.

Then they went Buell:

Aprilias and 999s and 998s all behind, and dozens of them? Very cool. Of course the floodgates of negativism will open shortly, but let's enjoy our brief moment of happiness!

Go XBRRs!

That's great! Buell needs to start capitalizing on this win!

Especially since it was an endurance race.

It also means that some of the dealership teams should be taking a HARD look at moto-st next year.

Lap Chart

Looks like Michel finished the first lap in 2nd then led for the remainder of the race. Brilliant!

What can one possibly find to naysay against the XBRR with respect to this fantastic result? Too bad the VR racebike didn't contest this one too.

quote:

Which translates roughly as:

That until one did not wait, Buell XBRR controlled by Michel Amalric, thus finished the last week end in opening of the Gold Bowl the ultimate handle of the championship Protwin 2006 at the head of the race! With 1,148 second in advance on Alain Cottard and his Aprilia RSV 1000 and 3,941 seconds on Stephan Molinier and her Ducati 999, the American motor bike records its first victory over the French ground, a performance that did not even dare to hope for the team of Macadam Motor bike (concession of Montpellier): 2006 were to be before a whole year of grinding. A successful grinding which forecasts a splendid season 2007!

I have a question. Is there an incentive program in place for the teams that keep their
XBRR in the factory Black/yellow/blue livery?

I only ask because so far the only team I've seen paint theirs differently is Rich Conrath's team.

Maybe it's just a unity thing, either that or all the teams are spending all their money on things
that make real differences rather than paint. ;)

There is no incentive. We just don't want to spend money on paint. Also, for brand awareness it is nice that people recognize it as a Buell.

Hey Walt! Tell us about your XBRR! Maybe in a new thread?

Check out the centered number placement on Michel's front fairing. It has a definite slimming effect. : D In fact it looks like a whole new front fairing, but it isn't. Very 250GP looking for sure.

Yea, I noticed that too. Minor change in paint made a big difference in the way the bike looks.

OTOH, I kind of like the wide fairing anyway...

I think the AMA teams were asked to keep their RRs in the Buell colors for this season. Privateer owners are free to paint as they see fit. Wait 'till you get a load of what we're cooking up : )

TRUE. But you can go out and buy an Aprilia RSV1000, Ducati 999 and a 998, that are pretty tricked out, complete with Ohlins suspenders, from the factory.

Buying a race replica is ALWAYS about living the fantasy...that is what sport bike marketing is all about. Once upon a time...
