Hey Everyone.
What a weekend. A huge crash and a couple good finishes. The site will be updated shortly so you can also get the race journal there if you don't have time to read the full email here.

Saturday Formula Thunder 2nd: (Superbike)

This was a great race for us. I got the hole shot going into turn 1 with Darren Murray #4 (Ducati 749R) right behind. I led the first lap and Darren and I went through turn 2, 3, and 4 side by side. He got a better drive out of turn 4 and took the lead. The rest of the race I pretty much followed Darren around the track. As the laps went on he upped the pace and I stayed with him. I was faster in the back section of the track through turns 6, 7, and 8 but I couldn't get a good enough drive before the front straight and he would gap me about 15 bike lengths. I would close up and be right on his rear wheel every lap before the straight but I could not get in his draft and I finished 2nd. I again went faster than last month and dropped my best lap ever down to 1:31.6

Sunday Open GP Twins DNF: (Superbike)

I lined up on row 3 for the start. I got a decent start and was in 6th position I think. I was not very aggressive on the first lap, as I wanted to see where things were at after the first lap. Coming up the hill in Turn 9 Tim Keene, #420 on his Bimota 1000 was in front of me. The Buell, as most of you know corners so well that I can carry so much more corner speed in the corners. I ran right up next to him on the outside of turn 9 setting him up for a pass in turn 10, when I heard the sound that every racer dreads when making a pass on the outside of someone. Tim tucked the front and crashed, now as I heard his bike scraping on the pavement all I could think of was grab a handful of throttle and get out of the way. His bike clipped my back tire and high sided me up and off the bike at 60 mph. Therefore, through the air I went for about 20 feet. I landed right on my left butt cheek and rolled a few times. I cam e to a stop and laid there for a second, everything seemed ok as far as no bones were broke but my body hurt. A quick look over by the paramedics and I was hobbling back to the pits. I had to get ready for Middle Weight GP Twins, which was up in 20 minutes. Oh, the bike, well its pretty beat up, but it will be back for Spokane, hopefully.

Middle Weight GP Twins 1st: (Supersport)

All everyone kept saying was go out there and JUST get some points do not push it, just take it easy. I agreed with them, as I was pretty sore and tired. I knew in my head I would not be happy unless I went out there and took a WIN. I got a bad start as I was pretty much in some pain and the adrenaline had not kicked in yet. I followed the guys around for a few laps in 6th place. We were all together and I was at the back of the line, which I was ok with as it was a bit uncomfortable moving around on the bike. Joshua Ellingson #169 made a pass on like 2 guys going into the bus stop and ran it a bit wide which caused mayhem as everyone was moving around trying to get to the front of the line. I just kind of sat back and decided I need to make my move right now. I drafted by a couple guys and Alan Schwinn #2 ended up getting behind me and followed me around everyone and to the front of the line we went. So, from 6th to 1st I we nt with Alan in tow. Alan passed me on the brakes in turn 2, we came around for the white flag, and I got him on the brakes in turn 2. Then he passed me coming down the hill in turn 3. I got a great drive coming out of turn 4 and was able to pass him into turn 5 and hold him off at the line for the win... It was a great race and I was totally beat but a win is exactly what I needed.

750 SBK 14th (Supersport)

Not getting any points in Open GP Twins we picked up this race to help with the overall points for the season and had to run the Supersport bike as the Superbike was not going back together after the big crash. So we did ok I guess, I wasn't really in the zone out there and just kinda rode around not really pushing it.

Thanks to the Pushrod Racing Team for all the help getting the bikes ready to go before this weekend, Brett, Jeff, Rob, Jesse, and Trav.
