Dyna, Wendover is just a short hop westward. There is stuff eastward but not a lot and not extreamly close. Wendover shows up as being in Utah, but when you get there you will soon learn that most of it is actually in Nevada. Utah is the city, Nevada is the town, just your basic border town with different rules and laws on each side of the border. Click the links from Court for more answers. |

Utah = Restaurant side of Hotel (see Court eat) Nevada = Casino/Bar side of Hotel (See FMJ play) Stateline (convenient name for the joint) runs through the middle. Wendover is pretty much pawnshops and mobile homes....if you want it, bring it Court |

Geologically Speaking, Salt and/or gypsum (otherwise known as anhydrites because of their lack of water) complexes are not all that uncommon. Any time you have a shallow sea that is evaporating quicker than it is acquiring water, it has the chance of turning into a salt flat. Modern day salt flats are somewhat rare, but they have existed in many places in the past. They are usually burried under quite a bit of silty or sandy overburden and are known to trap natural gas within the salt, especially if they have a layer of claystone above them which is relatively impermeable. Often after burried they turn into salt diapirs or salt domes. These act as molten rock does in a plutonic form: when it heats up a little and is under a little bit of pressure, they can rise to the surface in viscous blobs, much like a granitic rock will in a young mountain range. Such are the salt domes in Saudi Arabia.... anyone with a backround in this stuff can correct me if I am wrong. But they were deposited a long time ago just like the salt in Utah, buried, trapped hydrocarbons and are inching their way up to the surface again... Just thought you all might like to know. . Don't worry Court, I, for one will wait until January to start harassing you endlessly. Charlotte |

Well, there is a legitimate grocery store in Wendover on the west end of town, so you don't quite have to bring everything you may want. |

If that is a legitimate grocery store, then Sak's is a "Five and Dime". We import food. and save the stray can of diet soda or 6pak of Bud for local purchase. >>>>and are known to trap natural gas FJH has exhibited the very same phenomenon. |

Well, yeah, I probably wouldn't trust their seafood there, and I did check the date codes on anything I bought that had a date code. I'm also not too sure about their bread products either unless it says Hostess and is made to be put into a toaster. But apart from all that I'd say it's the most legitimate grocery store within 100 50 miles of there.
