Peter, Been looking for different fairing designs lately. Jon Amo from the Land Speed Record mailing list I subscribe to pointed me to the Pro Toys site. -JW:> |

Oops, There's been a discussion going on in the mailing list about rule changes and partially enclosed front wheel fairing. Amo shot me a link to Charlie Toy's killer fairing. Seems he had handling problems with cross winds present and eliminated them with the vented front fender fairing. Just found the discussions going on interesting reading. Check this 50cc dude out! -JW:> |

So,only 10 weeks to go to Bonneville.I hope everybody is ready!!Might be a good idea to start chiming in with who is intending to be there, who is gonna race,do the 130-150 clubs, who is riding there, who is driving, etc. I will be driving and trailering, bringing 3 bikes of my own--1995 Buell as last year,2003 Derbi 50cc bike for my son,and a 1982 Yamaha Turbo Seca 650 for some open classes. Also bringing bikes for Woz and Rex Chaney, and of course the XR-100 pit bike.See ya all there. |

Sent off my bike entry forms today. Finally took delivery of Derbi for James, will start on that tomorrow.Been back and forth with m/c committee guys about special construction class(A) rules, they are supposed to be back to 2002 rules, but Wink Eller is trying to tell me that if it runs in M class it cannot change to A class, and vice versa.I don't have my rule book with me,but don't remember that restriction,as the RR-1000 ran APS and MPS. And remember to get your Salt-Away from our sponsor(www.salt-away.com) before you take that nice car/truck/bike out on the salt.Tell them who sent you and how you are using it. |

Motorcycle Rules Change Sec. 7 F & G All Bonneville Motorcycle Racers The 2003 rulebook has some controversial and difficult to understand changes that were issued by the previous rules committee. Due to these changes many of your motorcycles fit neither the Modified nor Special Construction classes. We will be using the 2002 rulebook for section 7.F Modified Frame and section 7.G Special Construction, from pages 96 to 100. Tell your friends to check this site or print this out for them. Please note that there will be a Motorcycle rules meeting on the salt during Speed Week ( date and time will be posted) to discuss how to resolve this problem for 2004. Again, we will use the 2002 rulebook only for sections 7F and 7G. Sorry about the confusion, but let's go racing! Wink Eller, Motorcycle Technical Chairman |

Just got done with about a 5 way back and forth with every m/c tech guy I could find--and the gist of it is,yes they are going back to last years rules---BUT,once you pick a frame class(A or M) you cannot change out of it.Only ones that can change are Production class bikes.Shucks, that shuts down some of the fun. |

Still have the need for speed, though.Don't think the turbo Blast would satisfy that.I am certainly not going to stop racing at Bonneville just because some of the good old boys on the 200MPH club board deciced to change the rules. |
