It's looking very likely that I will be heading to Lake Gairdner for the 2006 Speed Trials. There is an American contingent heading over spearheaded by the Ack Attack Streamliner and John Noonan with his 260 mph Hayabusa. They have very generously offered to transport my bike and all gear for free.Talked to Paul and he has offered his truck and any assistance he can,Ross has offered to pit for me.I hope to score a cheap ticket from Terry Parsley as he is ex-United employee.Just gotta talk wife and work into letting me play in the outback for 2 weeks. Looks like we will have 1-2 streamliners, several turbo Busa's,Mr Amo's 240 mph nitrous bike, and maybe the turbo Vrod of Super Kaz.Should be the adventure of a lifetime!!! |

Jim, sounds like a trip of a lifetime. Land speed trials is truely addictive, isn't it? Hope all works out to go down under. Will you try Bonneville next year also if all holds together including our unpreditable weather? Bummer this year for sure. Bob |

Way cool Jim! How about a fund raiser using a cool Elves Down Under theme? Paul used a cool design on his Aussie shirt in 03 that might be reused in some form... Just a thought! Brad |

126 days are you counting mate. http://www.dlra.org.au/2006.htm If you got any contacts with a Sat phone as that is the only way to communicate once you are up there. Dont forget to give me a list of anything you need provided at this end more notice the better. When do you have to put the bike in the Box. I guess that will be the point of no-return. Will need to know the qty of fuel and Nos etc you will require so I can pre-book so it is available when you arrive. Suggest you start training sooner than latter. Stand on your head for an hour a night that way you will be get accustomed to being down under befor you get here. Good luck with the plans mate, hope to see you down here next year. |

"Paul you forgot about how much Beer he will need..." I would suggest you bring some of that US Beer ours has Alchol in down here. Then I rembered a beer that Jin enjoyed called Fat Tyre and that was more like an OZ beer. It amazed me how far and wide Fosters has spread across the US, down here I think they still sell it because the OS visitors drink it. The only time I can recall drinking Fosters in the past 20 years was at the Homecoming 2000 in the US. Jim I got a slab of Coopers Pale Ale on Ice for you already. |

Jim, I'll poke around a bit a see what I can come up with. Court, who did the original Elves shirts? |

Lanny Rediel. . . he also did the recent ERIK BUELL & THE THUNDERBOLTS shirts and the greta 202.989 MPH shirts we handed out at the factory when we shattered the Land Speed Record on a Buell. Price is right and he's become accustomed to my "I need it in 3 days" routine. He also did the Jersey's. They were a bit pricer, but they were very high quality. If fact, I'd be willing to discuss a "universal "TEAM ELVES" jersey and I suspect we'll be needing one in March. |

Jim: That picture would look quite cool on 100 shirts. I'm thinking with the Aussie flag and the USA flag on the back and the "Speeding Fireman" on the front. I can make these happen quite quickly and I think it would be a dandy way (oh no . . . I am soliciting) to pay for your airfare and accomadation. I mean, heck, I'd want to kick in anyway. . might as well have the frickin' t-shirt to prove it. Just a thought. If you want them, it'll take about a week. I may even be able to arrange (TEAM ELVES as you know still has a pretty ominous underground orginization in place in anticipation of 2006) distribution. Court |

Conspicuously display a BadWeB logo on the shirts and bike and post pogress reports here with pics and all is good. Win-win! BadWeB is happy to accommodate such an exchange. |

Court, Jim, any way I can help out on the t-shirt front? I was just going to send Jim and email but decided to read the last two days postings instead. I think it would be very cool to have the Team Elves logo on there somewhere. Brad |

Team Elves definitely,I am the last surviving active member at this point and am still proud to fly the colors. Brad any and all help appreciated.I really liked the 2001 shirt with Richard on the bike and the records listed next to it.You could put the Team Elves logo and the Badweb logos one on each sleeve with flags back or front----or a flag on each sleeve with badweb/Team Elves logos on front with pic of bike on back--or--- And my records are--MPS 1650 PBF 170.264 MPS 1650 PBG 176.125, MPS 1350 PBF 169.692, and M 1350 PBF 155.475. |
