Events like this weekend remind me why I like this Buell thing so much. There are some awfully terrific folks associated with Buells, people with optimistic outlooks and enthusiastic, positive attitudes. |

They had PLENTY of these for sale. I believe at rather discounted rates. I'm sure they would appreciate it if you would buy some. You can order from the USFRA web site. Think of it as a consolation souvineer. There are still a bunch from last year as well (they have the RR on them so they're very cool). bighairyralph |

For October....it's hard to tell. There wasn't "much" water on the salt. The race area wasn't submerged, but it was more puddle than salt. According to the nice people there, if it stays hot and there isn't any more rain it may be okay. It wasn't hot. Even if October does happen, I wouldn't count on a good surface. bighairyralph |

Well, boys and girls, sitting here back at the firehouse after driving for 14 hrs yesterday.Hated to go back to reality--Aaron's was soooooo much fun.We made the most of the cards handed us--and then some!!What a great bunch of people.(With the possible exception of those International Terrorists--Buell riders never associate with lawbreakers--wink,wink.)We rode, ate, drank, and bragged to excess.(And yes I too rode the Busa.Only saw 150,but it was sooo easy!!Could not own one,too much temptation.)It sure was a good feeling watching my bike on the dyno as Aaron tuned it.Every change brought more HP.And seeing the final numbers was a rush--121.2HP(emphasis on the .2) I stopped and took almost identical pics as Ralph.Water, water everywhere.I thought it was funny that I am talking to Henrik on the cell describing it and the lady at the souvenir stand says"Oh are you with Team Elves?I knew there couldn't be too many Henrik's."Famous(or infamous)everywhere.Heres hoping for a good October!!!!More after I recover. |

What Big Hairy Ralph forgot to mention is that we tried really hard to drink a beer for each of you. And I know that we lost enough money for 6 or 8 of ya anyway! Just doing our part for the local economy. Aaron, you had mail waiting for you at the State Line. And whose bright idea was it to cancel the entire block of rooms? Should have seen the look on Ralphs face when he was told that our reservations were cancelled. It was priceless. Luckily, since all the cool people were partying in Berthoud, there were plenty of rooms at the inn. No fun having to sleep in the desert. In the cold. When it's flooded. With a crabby BHR. Sorry, guys. Didn't mean to jinx it. Here is looking for warm temps and good salt in October. And if not, we'll see ya next year. Big Hairys' Sarah |

Back in New York City which, compared to The Wilson Ranch, seems absolutely mundane! I'm gonna try to write this story and it should be without equal in the history of Buell gatherings....THIS WAS IT! Two snippits.....I can attest to the Rocket sighting as he passed me as I was in the rental rocket headed to the ranch. That was just before I raised the bar in terms of "talking for Buell" when I spent 10 minutes on the phone with the Sheriff's Department. I'll give you just one of the lines "no, he's not an international terrorist". Details later, but IT WORKED! The Wilson's deserve a HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE from around the globe. No one, in my 15 years of being around Buells, has ever approached this event. Court |

Checking in Bueller's...me & Tami had a great time at the Wilson Hacienda...I'm glad we came back from the whirlwind vacation of Wyoming & South Dakota for the Saturday gig, besides we had to rescue the Video camera I left downstairs. Truly awesome bunch of folks! The Euro contingent is definitely a hoot...Jilles...I have one each 19 year old daughter I'll send ya! LOL....we were barely home, when she brought her problems over to the house for me to fix today. (New Car registration troubles) Paul, Linda & others..thanks for the great grub all week. Paul...you definitley are one of a kind mate! Didn't Rocket look cute in his tutu! Aaron & Susan..once again...thanks for your alls gracious hospitality. Court, it was great meeting you in person as well as Blake, as well as all the other Bueller's...I know I'll forget all the names, so I'll leave it at this. PS..glad you are home safe Josh & Fireman Jim! |

Aw geez, we love hosting our friends here, it's been terrific and I'll be sad to see it end. The only thing that could've made it better would be if we were at the salt flats racing. But I try not to obsess over that. Another fantastic day of riding today (Peter, Griz, Paul, SteveP, Henrik, Ross, myself) ... we did Flagstaff Mountain, which has INCREDIBLE switchbacks on it and a view to match. |

Aaron, How does one schedule "dyno time" with colorados finest tuner. I am thinking of running the Buell out sometime in the spring. Donnie and Jack are redoing some stuff that they would really rather have right, now that we have more time. Thinking about running speed week next year as well as USFRA, something about not putting all our eggs in one basket. We are re-configuring our effort so that we can run two bikes out with support or ramp up to run 4 with two weeks notice. Can't count on the weather don't you know. Sorry I missed the shindig but work blew up thursday too. Rain out was not the worst that happened to me that week. Paul |

Jim; Those "international terrorists" miss YOU, though. I'd be happy to continue our little "flower-warfare" next year... Had a GREAT time with You, say "hi" to Brad for me. I'll give him a ring. Dale; Tami DID take my picture, didn't she!? So if that daughter of Yours' would like to come over for a cup of coffee; I'd be happy to oblige... Thanks for a GREAT time also, good luck on the bike and Maxton!? and We'll be mailing. Again; I'm gonna miss all of You...BIG TIME! Jilles. |

One more I forget. I know you all got on a bit to Rocket about his style of riding, crossing the double yellow and that, but seriously he is a great rider and follows the natural line of the road better than anyone I've ridden with. I enjoyed riding with him here in US, and will again in Europe soon. Jilles |

Josh, I got home @ 24 hrs ago - payback's a bitch and so was she! Thanks for the muffler bolt - I went past the salt flats with everything that rich running 77hp M2 had (I could feel the speed increase even after the needle stopped moving clockwise - I tried that move the guy on the Vincent made famous - but it was extreeeemly uncomfortable with the backpack strapped to the back seat.) I got pulled over in Reno (85 in the const. zone right before the Virginia St. exit ) - I tried the Bonnieville / Team Elves thing and it worked ! Dave, how was Mt. Rushmore? Thanks Woz for encouraging me to go to set up at Bonnieville! Thanks Doug & Roc for encouraging me to go to Aaron's. Thank you Aaron & Susan & Team Elves for the best time I've ever had on my Bike. |
