Well after hours of thinking, saying damn and dropping F-bombs we are on our way to Colorado. We will probably be making a quick stop at Bonneville, if only for a photo and to piss on it. In the next day or so will someone please call (503) 407-7893 and leave me some contact information for Colorado. |

Cheers, Thought I'd post some good news. I went to El Mirage about a month ago since I'm stationed in Northern L.A. area for the time being. For one thing, it was one HOT puppy there and I was completely blown away how many people where there. S'later, -JW:> |

AWPrior, I've commandeered my parent's Cherokee and will be pulling a 3-bike trailer to Denver. I'll take my S1 and S3 plus PhillyBlast's S2 (should we line them up by number or year?) when he gets here. Should roll from St Louis early Thursday. I need to be back Sunday night (for work Monday) and I beleive PB will be coming back with me. You'd be better off (probably) on I-80 but you're welcome to make this a caravan. Josh |

For those flying into Denver....... You will take SHAMROCK TRANSPORTATION from DIA (Denver International Airport) to LONGMONT, CO. The bus leaves EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR. The cost is about $18.00 USD. It takes about 1H:15M. Get off, in Longmont, at the Super 8 Stop. Call the TEAM ELVES GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER for transport to our secret facility hidden in the Rockies. Court |

If anyone ends up stranded in Salt Lake give me a call or page me and I'll do what I can to help out. I feel guilty things have fallen through just 'cuz I live here - I haven't washed my bike or car in weeks - you'd think that would keep the rain away since washing my bike is like doing a rain dance... -Mike 801-557-5684 mobile 801-275-1118 pager |

PhillyBlast, I put the M2 soft bags on my S2 for a few days and they seemed to work just fine, for 500 miles anyway. FYI. ===== Somehow, I'm thinking there's going to be a few no-so-street-legal bikes being run down a few straight side roads in western Colorado over the next few days. |

STATELINE HOTEL RESERVATIONS HAVE ALL BEEN CANCELLED. Vickie has cancelled ALL reservations for rooms and the party arrangements at the Stateline Hotel. If someone shows, no problem, there are plenty of rooms and rates have gone down since we booked. If you were in another hotel...don't forget to cancel. Court |

WHAT! Rain in Bonneville - damn! I might expect it here in Soakland...oops sorry Scotland...but not there. Bummer. Ok guys go for the alternative - as a yoorypean who has ridden in Colorado several times (on both the 'nimble' XL175 Honda and the grunting XT500 Yamaha-ha-ha) I can assure you that those roads are damn fine splendid and well worth terrifying yourselves on. BIG mtn passes, long swoopy bits, loads of altitude and more fun than you'll ever need. Be cleaning bugs out of your teeth for days afterwards.......enjoy...... |

Wow. As one who couldn't go but planned on rooting all of y'all on via the net and good thoughts, I am so sorry. At least you have the fantastic Rockies as a consolation. Like Roc said - it's just more development time! |

Damn, damn, DAMN!!! As disappointed as I am about this development, I know it's NOTHING compared to the disappointment felt by Aaron, Court, FMJ, and all the other Elves who have been preparing for the last year. I will not be able to make it to Aaron's. I hope that those of you who get there can make chicken salad out of this chicken shit. Have a good time and post pictures! r-t |

i grew up in the often wet and rainy Pacific Northwest, and have had so many rides and events i put together rained out (or snowed out) that it's not funny. i suspect i'm familiar with at least some of the emotions that must be in full boost right now at Aaron's place. don't know what to say, guys and gals, except that there are a bunch of us out here feeling your pain. with the large group of international misfits you have gathered there in Colorado, and with Court "Hey, y'wanna hear a story?" Canfield pushing the buttons, i'm imagining that this deal may yet well go down as "Historic and Monumental" (heavy on the mental...) be safe, kids, and have fun, and know that there's STILL a bunch of wistful Hooligans watching this channel ride to lean, Ferris Bueller |

Any interest in my bringing my Sega Dreamcast with Ducati World of Speed and Suzuki Alstare? I could lug the much better XBox and MotoGP but it's damn big and heavy. Now if only I can find someone to grease the bearings on the trailer tomorrow and pick up more tie-downs we'll be set. Josh |

I'd like to hear the revised plans for fielding the S2RR. If it will be a go in October, I can plan to attend. I'd still love to meet everyone in CO, but unfortunately, I cannot do both. Aaron, What are you thinking? |

Hey guys and girls - this is a setback, BUT the actual racing is only a small part of what you all have achieved. There are a bunch of us out here feeling a part of something we never EVER thought we would be such a big part of. The record-breaking is simply the icing on the cake, but the cake itself is a complete marvel and a joy to behold. The measure of the Elves' success is not just what they have achieved......but what they have had to overcome. Whether you run your bikes or not....as far as I am concerned, and I KNOW I speak for Elves all over the world............you are ALL winners. Your Team Jerseys and T-shirts should be amended to read..."Salt 2002- more records to break - we got there, and it took God to stop us...." |

Forgive me for being dumb, but what is the difference between the event you guys were going to that got cancelled and teh event on October that the SCTA runs? I know the Guzzi guys are going to the World Finals in October. Are the records from September and the ones set in October recognized by 2 different groups? |
Court

Jeff: The records ARE recognized by the varying sanctioning bodies. And the "difference" is that they are just different sanctioning bodies. All the timing and speed sanctioning bodies adhere to what they described to me, yesterday, as a "gentlemen's agreement" (apologies to Pammy, Vickie, Susan and the gals who did so much work on our effort) that they never reschedule, only cancel, when this happens to avoid stepping on each others events. My gut feeling, at the moment, is that TEAM ELVES will mothball what I am convinced would have been our most impressive, in terms of performance, organization and attendance, for a 12 month period. We've done too much work and planning. I will allow no one to deny us our goal. In the interim, we'll play the dealt cards and simply have the best time we can and enjoy the wonderful friendships that we've made around the world. There are TWO OPTIONS (that I am aware of at present) for the coming days: ELVES FROM THE EAST: will be heading to Berthoud, CO to jump on the trampoline and to think a "liability waiver" was suggested for fast motorcycles) and celebrate the most glowing part of our sucess, our worldwide friendships. I will also push for an audio feed of the bikes. ELVES FROM THE WEST: Be sure to check out the Sunday American Sportbike (click on the sponsor icon to the left) BBQ coming up this Sunday. Tat and Maria are expecting upwards of 100 Buells and frankly, I suspect it'll take that many to keep Jerry Johnson's enthusiasm in Check. FERRIS: Will be at Ferris' place commenting and keeping the pot stired. TEXicANS: WILL GO TO COLORADO or risk a monumental PATCH FINE. Longmont, CO is the place you want to point your search engine to. Rooms are cheap, it's a stone's thrown from the TEAM ELVES GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER and the party's on! Court |

Blake, I have a major conflict with the October event, but I ain't saying no yet. If there's any way in hell I can do it, I will, but I can't commit yet. There's a whole lotta guys sitting here watching me type this that want your ugly ass HERE! They say it's a whole lot closer than Europe. Hop on your hot rod M2 and get your butt up here. We'll pump that boat anchor while it's here, too. BTW, we've got bikes lined up (THANKS HCHD!} and we're a fixin to go whoop on some twisty roads. |

TEAM ELVES has commandeered motorcycles from High Country Harley-Davidson ( a fine Elf Sponsor) and are "Roarin' in the Rockies" as I type this. Festivities will include a Saturday Elf-Fest! Court |
