Okay, I kind of wondered about that when you mentioned it. The place I'm thinking of, that I did not stop at, looked a bit like they serve burro and try to convince you it's rattlesnake. Your place sounds much better. |

Does the local minimart sell refried beans, canned jalepénos, and burrito sized flour tortillas? If not, I'll bring my own. |

Pete, You damn #@*$^%&*! Just like You to tell me Rocket sleeps without his knickers AFTER I agreed to share a room with him! "Not a pleasant site"-I can imagine! Just wait till he finds out I'm the guy that bored him with the story 'bout hoisting a NSU 1200 TTS engine in a Norton Wideline in Croix last year... Did sell the bike, Rocket. Figured a Triton would be more "practical". -after I found out the engine casings had more fuel then oil in it after a 100 mls riding- Just You wait for his reaction when he finds out I've got three legs!! Here's a glaring question I've not seen asked/answered yet... What would it take to get P-PP 750cc and 1200 cc classes (or any of the other variants for that matter) established for USFRA/Bonneville LSR records? From the Team Elves Site (current as of last week)...
Class | 500cc | 650cc | 1000cc | 1350cc | 1650cc | P-PP | 113.654* | - | 143.079 | 151.588 | - | M-PG | 113.047 | 104.832* | 146.675 | 166.59 | 167.662 | M-PF | 112.414 | - | 144.58 | - | 180.18 | MPS-PG | 115.695* | 117.342 | 161.207* | 172.479* | 167.354 | MPS-PF | 116.684 | 110.446 | 180.823* | 190.796* | 157.604 | M-PBG | - | - | - | 155.897 | - | M-PBF | - | - | - | - | - | MPS-PBG | 93.955 | - | 148.981 | 166.173* | 110.075 | MPS-PBF | 102.336 | - | - | - | - | A-PG | - | - | 146.641 | 163.854 | 167.489 | A-PF | 131.568 | - | 151.678 | 169.768 | 169.282 | APS-PG | 83.066 | - | 161.050* | 164.044 | 168.861 | APS-PF | 138.699 | - | 158.245* | 197.199 | 178.438 | A-PBG | - | - | - | - | - | A-PBF | - | - | - | - | - | APS-PBG | - | - | - | - | - | APS-PBF | - | - | 213.245 | - | - | Red indicates Team Elves held records * indicates records currently held by a Buell |

Blake, They have the old Triumphs, the Vincents, The Harleys and the hot rod Harleys all covered. Why would they need more..... PPiA |

The good old boy syndrome eh? I hate that crap. They don't have the XR750 hot rod Harleys covered. So what does it take to get a 1200 PP class added. It seems like the Guzzi guys would want an 1100cc class too. Not too many Guzzis around though. Sure are a lot of HD and Buell 1200's around. |

They have a 750cc class, we just didn't include it in that list because it's not a likely size to configure a Buell to. Paul's team will be running XR750's in it. |

Oh, and a Buell wouldn't be eligible for a 1200cc class anyway. They'd have to make a 1203 class. FWIW, it's legal to raise the displacement up to the class maximum, even in P-PP ... for example, Dale's Sporty was originally an 883 Hugger but displaced 997cc in race trim (3-3/16 bore). The problem is that OEM cyls are required and that really limits your abilty to punch out a 1200. Guess you could stroke it, but that's not likely to get you much if any more power. |

Yesterday's results are posted ... Buell Bros are getting it together, they're now about 4mph off the record! Go team! Also, Dad Land ran 155, not bad! At least 3 teams have been gunning for Crim's 1650cc records, but they're still well off the mark. The 750cc effort from Yankee has broken 120. |

Which record are the Buell Bros after? |

1350 P-PP, same as Paul. Buell Bros owned it, lost it to Deeley's, took it back by about a tenth of a mph at 150.1, and then last year lost it to the Guzzi team who upped it to 151.5. Buell Bros has been struggling all week with speeds in the 130's, but yesterday they posted a 147.3, so they're getting on top of it. Here's another shot of their bike ...

Jim: RR/RS/S2's use 1" bars with standard Harley controls, all the others use 7/8" with generic Italian type controls. We'll be passing through SLC later that afternoon, we'd be happy to swing by and pick you up. But it'll prolly be 4:00 or 5:00 or so. Let me know if that works. |

Thanks Aaron, That's what we're thinking, some unfortunate XL'r will break off from the armada and swing by the airport, leaving your house at ? 8:00 am ? puts the caravan into SLC about ? 1-2:00 pm ?. I was thinking someone from the Elves group might be flying directly in also. I'll grab the dog to Wendover if needed. |

Griz, You may want to avoid putting yourself in that position in Bonneville; I hear there may be a contingent of SacBORGers in attendance. |

Ya know......I've just realized that we haven't appointed a SECURITY contingent. I am thinking of hiring those toughs from Queens and Bedford-Styvesent in the yellow t-shirt....this could get out of hand. Court |
