So what does it take to get a 1200 PP class added. It seems like the Guzzi guys would want an 1100cc class too. Not too many Guzzis around though. They'd have to make a 1203 class. FWIW, it's legal to raise the displacement up to the class maximum, even in P-PP ... for example, Dale's Sporty was originally an 883 Hugger but displaced 997cc in race trim (3-3/16 bore). The problem is that OEM cyls are required and that really limits your abilty to punch out a 1200. Buell Bros are getting it together, they're now about 4mph off the record! Go team! Also, Dad Land ran 155, not bad! At least 3 teams have been gunning for Crim's 1650cc records, but they're still well off the mark. Buell Bros owned it, lost it to Deeley's, took it back by about a tenth of a mph at 150.1, and then last year lost it to the Guzzi team who upped it to 151.5. Buell Bros has been struggling all week with speeds in the 130's, but yesterday they posted a 147.3, so they're getting on top of it.
