A nap sounds good, but I took the bike down to a sponsor's shop to show it off ... Mark Souter and Leonard Havens, two outstanding mechanics. They'll be joining us at Bonneville. Picked up the Blast while I was there, they've had it on display in their showroom. Time to see if I can't find a little more in it. |

Blake I think you may have missed something on Ray's Sidecar. The so called deflector is not an appendage like the barn door on an outlaw sprinter, but merely the kneeling area of the platform mandated by the rules. We feel the angle of attack of the platform should be slightly down, as neutral might get some air under and up would fly the car even with ballast. What we were looking for was a rough idea of where to make the initial adjustment to give some down force, minimal drag, as well as reasonable extra weight. (ballast) As for the wheel, we looked for a narrower wheel and tire which was speed rated, or at least DOT approved. I dont think bicycle meets the criteria. We went with the Cushman wheel we had. I would welcome any suggestions that maycome up, but we are nearing deadline. I hope this clears up some of the questions. Thanks Dick Aaron Richard's ride looks awesome! I hope to be at the salt to see it top 200. By the way thanks so much for your help on Ray's Blast. It would never have happened without you. Dick |

I am still here at work myself...we are testing a new fuel injection system. If it works as well as it is claimed, Aaron may have a bit more work to do... |

Aaron, too bad somebody took the "ride it like you stole it" slogan a little to seriously. As my M2 is on the post office walls. Yet to every cloud there really is a silver lining.... Just waiting to pick up my new ride.....a couple more days and I be riding a 97 S1. Pammy, working on saturday means one must take at least some of sunday off.... All, being as since I am about to take a dip into the "butt floss" years....Anyone have the S1 CD, that I could borrow? just for a short bit of time. |

I'm planning to go to see the LSR. I live in Castro Valley, CA and will be riding my '99 M2. I don't have a route planned yet but I hope to be on I-80 as little as possible. I might get a hotel room on the cheap nites and camp the rest?? Any one else planning to leave from The Bay Area on their bike? Nykk. |

Aaron, & all others involved...you done good again...awesome looking bike, though at first glance one would think it's the RR all over again. Bonneville Speedweek started yesterday with the first day of runs. Man, either the salt is bad, or the bikes are...the Buell Bro's 1350 hasn't got over 131 MPH...course this is all first day runs so far. All the runs on the pushrod bikes are low speed, around131 MPH tops so far. Their are 1350 & 1650 runs that are a lot less than what we ran the 1000 cc Production Sportster last year. Anyone know of anyone out on the Salt this week. We have one fella from the XL List their, but I haven't seen where he even made a run yet. Dale A. |

It runs...It's on a new motor though so won't be giving it a REAL test for a few hundred miles. We are supposed to be putting it on Wes' TC motor already tuned to 156hp. That'll be the real test. The new motor was putting out about 90 ft lbs of tourque at 2800rpm with the new FI. If I didn't give you that little tidbit of info, that redneck from Alabama would give me Hell.(otherwise known as Wooly Wayne Taylor)he he. |

Speeds are now posted from yesterday's passes. The pushrod bikes continue to struggle for some reason, although there are a couple good running 500cc bikes in the 113-115 range as well as a 650cc M-PF bike running in the 120's. Paul, Yankee Engineuity is apparently running a bike in 750cc M-PG with speeds under 120 so far. Jerry, fortunately I live way out in the country, I can make lots of noise. No complaints yet. |

Dirtsquirt, You might consider the standard cast mag wheel that Bushtec uses shown here as the powdercoated wheel option. This same wheel was used years ago by California Sidecar on its Companion model which they redesigned to serve the Harley crowd, so they no longer use this wheel. It's good looking, light & narrow. Aaron, It seems to me that the speeds are not far off of last years. You do know that they are running about a mile father out than last year, don't you?? The track we were on is under water so they moved it. It will be real interesting to see how it is in September. Don and jack have decided to use gaskets after all in the S2, I hadn't realized it was up for debate. Apparently the xr's don't. Too cool learning what really goes on in a race bike engine. Paul |
