Ray, Blast side-car sounds very cool. Looking forward to seeing it and meeting you and your dad. Firemanjim - the Airtech bodywork is sweet-looking. What class(es) is your S2 running in, sorry if I missed it if you mentioned it before? David |

FMJ: I know, I know, on a project like this, you have to rethink SO many things, figure out how you need to do it, get the parts, lay it out, etc, then it's on to the next problem. It seems to consistently take about twice as long as it should to get anything done. Drives me nuts, I'm just not that patient of a person. But I'm getting there. I did figure out how to do the bodywork and exhaust, that's my big project for this weekend. Last year was incredibly easy. In the spring of '01, I installed the nitrous system, which took about 4 days and had lots of that problem solving going on. But then Joe rebuilt the engine, and when I put it back together last August all the engineering was already done, it was a simple matter of bolting it together and tuning it. Damn that was easy compared to constructing a new bike like I'm doing now. Steve: That would be MOST cool if you could be here! We'll depart early the morning of Wednesday the 18th, and get to the flats around 5ish that afternoon. The 19th is set-up & tech day, racing starts the 20th. We'll head home the afternoon of the 23rd, arriving home at 1am or so. You're welcome to stay here, there will be quite a crowd I'm assuming but everyone is welcome. People start arriving Friday the 13th, we'll be doing dyno work and what not on various bikes between then and when we depart. |

David, Yea, I hope that I can make all the Blastards proud. If nothing else "it" will look cool (the side car is all aluminum) and it's going to be great to actually meet everyone. The details of this project are killing me though. Ray |

Aaron, with the Full House & all for Sept & dyno work going on, it may be too early yet for you to say, but what do you figure would be a good date for the Sportster brethren to drop in. Looks like me & the wife & Probably Art Northrup hauling the bikes only. I believe the others are wimping out & flying to Salt Lake. We can stay in Longmont at a hotel if your full up. Dale A. |

Dale, show up whenever it's convenient in your travel plans, stay as long as you want, tune bikes and hang out like last year. Y'all are more than welcome to stay here, number of beds is an issue but have you got sleeping bags? Looking forward to seeing you guys, it should be a good time. What are you bringing for bikes? |

Aaron, we are bringing the 100 incher "Roadkill" of course & the new 1350 class bike of Snyders with an 80 incher...barring any unforseen problems with that one. An outside chance, the Mystery EVO may come if someone breaks that 1000 P/PP record at Speed Week in August, & it still looks attainable to get it back! Heck, the Mystery EVO may come anyway to finish up what we tried last year in getting the 1000 MPG record...it depends on if one of my heads gets fixed in time. I really haven't made it a priority this year. I'll ping you sometime in the next few weeks on actual dates, etc. We'll bring the sleeping bags. I see you are heading out on Wed. AM again this year for the Salt. Looking forward to seeing you & the wife & the other Elvers again! Dale A. |

Court/FMJ-, I know this is way late and the deadline to register has passed, but I just got the OK to make the Bonneville trip this year! I don't need to race, but I want to be part of the Elf-stravaganza. What information do I need to provide, and who needs to receive it? road_thing |

Road Thing: First....QUIT YER WHINING! That just cost you TWO (2) patches. Now....go to the www.teamelves.com website and simply download the form and register. The form has complete instuctions and it'll be GREAT to have you with us! By the way, in the event you suffered "Okay delay" as a result of a 3rd party delaying your approval to join your fellow Elves, I am invested with the power, The Elf-Stitution is quite clear on this point, to fine "3rd party individuals found to have contributed to the mental anguish of an Elf by delaying a go-nogo decision". Court (now up to 4 patches) |

At Laguna Seca FMJ asked me if I was going to the Salt this year & I wasn't sure then but I am now. I'm gonna run the XB9R in the "Run what ya brung" 130 Club. Motorcyclist reports 133 top speed on a stock bike. I think it'll need every bit of help to just get into the 130's on the salt with wheelspin & such, so a race kit has been ordered. I'm wondering if this thing'll actually hit redline in 5th there. It's gonna be fun trying! Sparky |

You know, if I could come up with a way of thanking everyone for raising the 'Rocket to Bonneville Fund' then I would. Well I'm pleased to tell you all, I have !!!!! Dead simple really........................I'M COMING !!!!!!! I spoke with Pete earlier this evening and his excellent adminstration skills are going to bear fruit once he reads this. He'll be purchasing a ticket for me to fly London to Denver, using the money you guys and girls stumped up, and I have to tell you all, I'm really stoked. Truly greatful and all that, and no I aren't going to write you all another tear jerker, not yet anyway :-), to explain my timing, but I am gonna be at Bonneville to meet up with you all and have some proper fun. I have had a pretty shit year so I know this is just the tonic I need, and if you're lucky, you might just catch me doing the odd head stand on The Salt. Take it easy and I'll see you soon, and once again, thanks all for your patience and generosity, Rocket |
