Hill AFB itself is North of Salt Lake City...their is no other military billeting near the Salt Flats. Hill would be about 2-1/2 to 3 hours from the Salt coming back thru Salt lake itself. The old Wendover Air Base is no longer functional cept as an emergency airstrip. Dale A. |

Paul, it's a big ol' cruiser. A 1500cc Harley look alike. A decent bike and he got a good deal but what a switch. Wes doesn't have a side.... I DO tend to be a little aggressive don't I? Another of my charming little personality traits. Too bad Rocket isn't coming this year...I think he is trying to avoid you. Or did you two finally meet? |

Thanks for all of the input. I think I'll take Fireman J's advice and play it by ear. I'm more than willing to pitch in with someone or just sleep on the ground........won't be the first or last time for that. Court: No worries of Arty fire from me. Friendly or otherwise. I'm more in the "Information" side of the house......they won't let me near the weapons. |

Cool. Thanks for the input. I think I'll take Fireman J's advice and play it by ear. I'd be more than willing to pitch in with somebody or just sleep on the dirt...........won't be the first or the last for that. Court: No worries on the Arty fire.....friendly or otherwise. I'm more in the "Information" side of the house.............they won't let me near the weapons........probably a good decision. The Buell community continues to amaze me. It shouldn't, but it does. |

"AW, any dyno parties planned for this year? " Well of course! Biggest one yet ... people start arriving 5 days before we depart for the flats. Sportster list team, Ray, and probably a few others. I expect to see you here ... "I have been workin' many hours to keep Wes free to get some important business done." I have a hunch about that important business ... NOBODY bug Pammy until Wes gets it done! "What do you boys have in mind?...I do like to stay busy." Same deal as last year except the bike won't break! I've got more bikes than I can manage, I need some help. |

"Wes doesn't have a side...." What do you mean there is always another side eg:"Don sold his M2 and bought a Suzuki Intruder...I was in shock when I heard about it." I had to ring him to try to talk him into another Buell but as usual you only got half the story, The Buell still lives and has under gone another transformation, The intruder had 1,500 miles on it and was about $5,000.00 to good to pass up. He is thinking about The salt so give him a call and talk him into it. If the "Queen of the Universe" can't talk him around no one will.

It would be like Don to pack up and travel out to Utah... That would be cool.Yeah, I heard he got a great deal on the Land Barge(hee, hee) I will help in any way I can...I have more fun when I'm busy. Court, what's your proposition? There should be plenty of folks around that would just love to help.(including me) |

Geeeeeshhhhh...I can see this one coming. In years of managing diverse groups of people, I have never been tossed a challenge like tossing Aussie, Cajun's, Engineers, High Thinkers, Redheads and reprabates in bowl and stirring with shrimp. This will be THE year. I'm betting on one of the largest crowds ever to attend any Buell event (by the way Leslie Prevish recently raised the bar with her fabulous planning in California), certainly the most internaionally diverse crowds ever gathered for Buell and a couple impressive notches in the Land Speed Record tree with Buell's name on them! Yeah..I'm hyped. Court |

Court, Never fear. You organise the shrimps, the Aussies'll call them prawns, and we'll all be happy. Where do you plan on putting me in your Dutch/Aussie mud fight? Am I the ref? PPiA |

Actually....... We could have an all girl's match, with Pammy versus Rocket! I'll ref that one. All we need to do is get the big fluffy skirt to fly over again. She's probably got her head stuck in a pint of misery now, after they got kicked out of the World Cup by Brazil today. PPiA |

Down here the Prawns (aka shrimps) are that big we learn to wrestle them into the pot at an early age. Peter dont forget we will have The Vegimite Soldiers on our side if it comes down to that. Mix that with a liberal dose of Bundy and we will have them licked. Seems to me we need to come up with an after salt competion USA Vs The Rest of the World any suggestions.

There's enough salt there without the Aussies bringing Vegemite with them. Perhaps it can be used for repairing cracks in the strip. |

fellow Elves: i'm a virgin to this whole deal, so maybe the idea i just had is old news, but i'll toss it out anywho... i'm outside a few minutes ago tending the garden and flowers, and feeling a mite patriotic as i stopped down for a sec and gazed at the American flag hanging from the corner of our house as it waved brightly in the breeze. it's been there, in a position of prominence and honor, since 9/11, as memorial, tribute and statement, and i will NEVER not have an American flag on display on my home again. and this got me to thinkng........... again, i apologize if this has been done at the Salt in years past, but wouldn't it be bitchin' to fly large flags over the Team Elves pits from all countries who are represented in this wonderful international effort, countries represented either by folks who have made the trip in person, or by those who have contributed via other means. thoughts? ride in pride, FB |

Okay Rocket, if we're flying flags at Bonneville this year you should repeat and make those "Rocket in American" t-shirts available to everyone. Besides you gotta prove to everybody you're not a girl! JB2 |

Quote: As far as I know, Rocket isn't coming this year. First, this statement, based on what I have heard of Rockets recent "distracted" status, may not be accurate in all cases . . . Good on 'ya, Rocket! (Another international phrase learned from Paul Hogan, aka Crocodile Dundee) Also, I feel it only fair remind everyone that Rocket is still capable of incredible pinpoint accuracy with his well known ICBBHBs (Intercontinental Ballistic British Housing Bricks).

Question: Is FB supposed to read through all the posts and try to decipher who is or is not going? OR, are we supposed to give this info in a clear, easy to read format? Such as; Pilk, Mrs Pilk,3little Pilks arriving thurs depart sun eve will make reservations within the week, at the place listed on Elves site. Just kinda wondering about codgers cipherin ability!
