Anybody know what size the grips are for the Ulysses? Also, anybody ever run new throttle cables? One of my cables has broken wires at the intake I noticed when I installed new intake manifold last year. I don't wanna risk next season a cable snapping. Thanks!!! |

7/8" and 1". Pretty standard for any bike with a twist throttle besides the cruisers with 1" bars. New throttle cables are still available, ya swap it in your comfortable garage near your beer fridge before you have to swap it in a hotel parking lot. |

I just did mine a couple of months ago when I was adding some bar risers. Mine was about to break at the intake side too. My butterfly was getting crusty too so it was good to take it down and give it a cleaning. |

How hard was it to replace the cables on the twist throttle? |

Take the 2 screws out of the housing. |

...and be careful. There are a couple of small bits that may try to escape. And, all the innards need to go back in the way they came out. Don't overlubricate. I use small shots of Dry Film Teflon Lubricant on the grip and into the cable. |

?? there shouldn't be anything loose in there? The case halves come apart, throttle cables slip out and the tube comes off the bars. http://buellmods.com If theres anything loose in there it would probably be a broken starter switch, so you should buy a new assembly, they are really cheap. Speaking of that, try to give the starter switch contacts a little cleaning while you're in there, they like to corrode and cause "HELP!! my bike won't start" posts. |
