Pretty sure I have a broken isolator. Vibes are unusually bad at certain RPMs, as well as on deceleration. My question is, is it bad to run it this way for a while? I am in the middle of an Ozarks trip and don’t have an option till I get back to Texas on Monday. |

Also, I seem to be having a tough time finding a replacement online. Have these become obsolete? |

A good isolator will have clearance see red lines. |

Thx Teeps. I’ll look into that eBay listing when I have a moment. My isolator has clearance in that space, but maybe less than the picture. I also had one go bad on a previous bike that didn’t visibly fail. Had to pull it off to see the damage in the rubber. |

I guess the important question is whether or not I’m in danger of running g the bike this way till I get back to TX. |

Since it is not all of the way down, the rubber webs have not completely torn through. I rode my bike for about three weeks while waiting for the mount to arrive. The vibrations will worsen... |

And probably cut out the wheelies for now. |

Thx, Mark. I’ve resisted getting the front up as well as cut out the dirt portions of the trip. Fingers crossed. |

When it breaks completely, you'll know. My first mount did that. It was sudden and the shaking got so hard that I thought that I'd broken a connecting rod. When I noted that there were no new holes in the crankcase I examined the bike more and noticed that the motor mount was resting on the head of the mounting bolt. It was not a pleasant ride after that. Each replacement has been about 40k miles apart. |

Funny, bike is at almost precisely 40k now. Made it home from Arkansas without the motor falling out of the bike. New mount should be here in a few days. Thx for all the help. |
