I need to replace the fuel pump in my XB12X. I have a NOS fuel pump but don't have the tools (lift) or experience to replace it myself. Can anyone recommend a place that could perform this service in NJ? Central NJ preferred but I could go anywhere if necessary. |

I have an 08 XB12X that I bought in 2012. I have been able to do myself what I needed done to date. Last time I called Liberty in Rahway, they were at least willing to work on my Uly but I still did the work myself. I was terrified that they'd have some guy unfamiliar with anything Buell do the work and for me, I'd rather take it on myself, especially with the help you can get from this site. If you find someone, please share here. |

Sorry, that's now Hannum's HD in Rahway. |

I haven't been to Liberty since they changed names, I don't know if they still are the go-to shop in the area. If you don't mind a hike, I personally recommend Empire Harley in New Rochelle NY or Danbury Harley in CT. I got a Buell at both of their shops right now! |

Froggy - Any reason you use both of the shops? I would have to tow the bike there as it won't start as the fuel pump is shot. So closer is better but I might still consider these. |

I’ve used Hannum’s HD when it was Liberty too, but also haven’t been there since it changed hands. They were good back then. It’s really not too hard to do yourself, with the help of this site. I don’t think you need a lift, I believe a jack would work. You do have to drop the top shock mount, I think. If you do it, or someone else does, make sure to check the wires, as the insulation can wear through over a sharp edge. I took mine apart just to check, and they were abraded. There’s plenty of threads on it here. Best way to learn, by doing. |

Funny enough it was just due to timing. I have two 1125s that needed a major service (valve clearance check). I usually go to Danbury for major work, but they were too busy and had a three week wait. I called up Empire and they had an opening next day. I dropped both of them off before this coronavirus crap happened, and I should have the one from Empire back this weekend. Oh and I have my EBR at another shop (for the same thing) that does that bike. Oh and my Goldwing is overdue for tires, so I'm gonna have to get that taken care of this weekend too. Danbury has treated me well in the past, their head of the service department has a few Buells including a Uly, so I've never had and problems getting my bikes fixed there. Empire has changed owners after Buell shut down, but I've never had trouble getting work done there either after the new ownership. |

I used Libertyprimarily because of Moose and Anthony. I know nothing about them now and would use Danbury. |
