Putting bike together after replacing the starter. Anyone can think of a place it came from? It's not the clamp that holds the clutch cable down by the adjustment bolts. The one in the pic is narrower. Is there another place where the clutch cable is held by a clamp, because the clutch cable is the only thing I can think of, considering the nature of the repair. Thank you! | ||

"I was thinking it may hold an electric wire for routing." right, but it needs a bolt to attach to, and for the life of me I can't figure out where it can be. I even gone through the parts diagram and still couldn't find the place where could've come from. And I googled the numbers on the clamp - the only thing that comes up is a Boeing parts distributor, but it's been a very long time since the last time I worked on an airplane in my two car garage  | ||

Back when I was running an ironhead and working with assholes, I came out to find a large puddle of oil under the engine. I went down put my finger in the puddle and then just geared up and took off. Later, the guy that dumped the oil under my bike asked me all disappointed how I knew it wasn't my bike. (He was watching at a distance.) I told him that it wasn't dirty and cooked looking. | ||

This is oil line holder (holder for rigid aluminum tube portion of oil line). Follow along your oil lines until you will find a tapped hole near it, this is going to be the place where it is from. You also need a screw to attach this clamp. This is likely somewhere from swingarm area. Also check rear brake line. (Message edited by TPEHAK on November 03, 2019) | ||

Also check rear brake line." thank you! unfortunately it's not it. the only oil line that I disconnected was the "breather" one, the one that gets in the way of taking the starter out (and putting it back in). It's held in place by a plastic bracket (it holds both this and the return oil line together). There was no metal clamp there  I didn't touch the rear brake line... thanks anyways! | ||
