Brother just bought an 09 Ulysses. Runs fantastic over 2500. Idle is shit. Cleaned and tested iac, tps is perfect, fuel seems good. Exhaust valve is shot but cable is unhooked and left closed, the bike was idling great, opened exhaust valve and the bike turned into dr Frankenstein and literally sputtered and quit. We turned off the exhaust valve with ECM droid and the bike ran great, for 30 min. I rode about 10 miles with no issues. My brother got on and it started hunting for idle and stalling again. Off idle it runs fine. Aftermarket Ecm is cracked at usual spot. This is driving me nuts as the grounds are all clean and tight, no noticable intake leaks(sprayed starting fluid on both sides till it was dripping wet) turned off closed loop and still the problem persists. Ideas? |

While monitoring while running it will idle fine, then randomly hiccup. When the hiccup occurs iac voltage spikes. Tps voltage continued to rise to approx 5va at idle, but I attributed that to increased temp. |

Wow, o remember when badweb had intelligent responses. Even though ecm is cracked is makes no difference whatsoever in the idle when being wiggled or moved. |

Is the return spring still on the exh valve? Could the valve be fluttering and messing with exh flow, thereby confusing the O2 sensor? |

Exhaust valve is fully functional, the controller is broken(no surprise) and by passed. Bike runs really rich, then the iac goes to full open and the bike dies out. I'm trying to find out why the iac is commanded open(randomy), and why the bike thinks its rich. We are putting In a new head temp sensor, iat, and 02 sensor and re check. |

What is your AFV? I'll bet it is settling down into the low 80's or even the high 70's |

If it runs great cold, but shit when warm, you need to get it warm (operating temp) and THEN do the TPS reset. Cracked ECM doesn't help, whether wiggle makes it act up or not that should be fixed. |
