It's been a minute since I've darken these hallowed halls. I recently picked up an el cheepo Uly and plan on getting it back to road worthy. I need a few parts, mainly plastics and windscreens. Let me now if you have anything laying around you'd be willing to let go of. My current stable has an '18 wing, '19 GSA, '04 Fatboy and the '07 Uly. Maybe I can trailer the Uly to Suches, GA with the wing in the near future in remembrance of Buelltoberfest. (Message edited by slowride on October 03, 2019) | ||

Good to see your still around. I was thinking about you recently, I recently added a Goldwing to my fleet and thought about the Buelltoberfest where you lead that massively long but amazing ride on your Wing. | ||

Hey Froggy... good to hear from ya. Yeah, that ride was pretty drawn out, I was totally comfortable on that big wing seat, I guess I forgot about you guys and those little buell seats.... ahaha. I was stalking the WV Buell event FB page and noticed you showed up this year for that one. The whole crew looked like they had a great time. I also saw that Mark traded his wing for the S1. Any who, I hope you're enjoying your new wing. What model did you pick up? | ||

Hey Slowride, how are you doing. I'm still riding the XT and still loving it. I also bought a 17 Goldwing in Blue and Black. My younger son bought his first bike last spring, a 2018 CBR500. I use the wing for commuting back and forth for work but the XT gets the call when its time to head out to the boonies and lean over a little bit. By the way, I'm in Arizona now. | ||

Zane, Good to hear from you Sir. Arizona was just to hot for me when I spent some time working in Phoenix. I do have to admit that the roads between Flagstaff and Phoenix are quite scenic and interesting. I bet the Wing is night and day different compared to they Uly. My 18 wing is quiet a bit different than either of my other wings (06 & 08). I do believe the new wing might have been built to fit a guy with my exact dimensions. I just fits me like a glove. It is one of the most refined motorcycles I have ever ridden. | ||

Vern, I am still here... good to see you're still in these parts of the web. I managed to catch Mark's FB post of WV Buell rally and saw a few pics of you and Froggy. You guys are ageing well. Hehehe I get to tell that story every now and again to new riders who talk crap about the wings. I had a blast that trip, even getting teased and ribbed by a sportscasting legend. I hope to meet up with you again and share a campfire and some of that good shine, I mean soaked cherry's again. | ||

Rr_eater, Thanks for the offer. Right now I am looking for a front fairing for the uly and the stock windscreen. The bike I bought has the barricade orange airbox cover and seat, but came with a gigantic front windscreen that doubles as a fairing. I want to change it back to stock for now. So, if you have the stock fairing and windscreen, I would love to take it off your hands. I also just picked up low seat in black for it too. | ||

Tootal, I would like to pick yours up. Let me know what you're asking for it with the ride to 72751. Ideally, I would like the stock orange fairing as well, so if Rr_eater has the Orange fairing and airbox, that would work in addition. I am thinking about vinyl wrapping a set of faring/airbox and then also having the stock orange color or at least that is the game plan right now. I just rebuilt the front forks on the Uly this past weekend and the fork tubes look really worn/scratched, but I couldn't feel anything with my fingernail. The rotor side fork seal was blown and when I disassembled it, I could swear what was left of the fluid was the factory oem. The left side, non rotor had been rebuilt at some time and it smelled and look like they ran trans fluid for the oil in it. Ahhh, the joys of used bikes.... | ||
