the horn switch is broken (don't ask me how that happened). I mean that black plastic thing on the left hand side switch control, the one where you push with your left thumb to make the horn honk. Broken clear off. So the question is - do I need to replace the whole switch control thing or is there a way to replace just the plastic lever. Thank you! |

You have to replace the whole thing, unless you can repair your old button with epoxy or similar. Hopefully you can find a decent used one from a Badwebber or eBay. |

Thanks Blitzer. I am afraid I don't have the skills for that, unfortunately. |

Someone on XBoard thread had the same problem. Their post is not quite halfway down the page. They had modified the switch housing and didn’t want to swap the whole thing out so they got a used switch assembly and just took the lever out and swapped it over. I like the metal one, looks pretty durable. Hey, how about a 3D printer? Our local library has a couple for member use, just don’t know how to make a design program. |

3D printer! Oh boy, I can barely master my HP InkJet. The idea of getting a used switch control and using the lever from there looks attractive. Does anyone know if the lever from an older Buell would work, something like this - https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Buell-left-side-switch-con trol-group-hi-low-turn-signals-1999-2002-17-18/283 543199530?hash=item42047ddf2a:g:N9MAAOSw9mpaHbUD&v xp=mtr Thank you! |

Making the part out of metal isn't really that hard, I had the job done in a little under an hour. Now that I think about it I made two of them so that I could take some pics of the process to share online. Hmm, maybe I should make a dozen more and charge $20 a piece. Yan, you can have the original if you want, just send me a mailing address. To answer your question, yes that does look like the same part. |

Thanks Trehak! I couldn't find just the plastic button (do you know if they are somehow generic or specific to Buells?) - but I bought one from a member of this forum who made it from steel. Works like new now! |

I do not know. I had to buy whole used Buell XB left control unit to take the button out of it. |
