Low-beam or turn signals sometimes stop working. Turning off the key and then back on has so far always cleared the problem. Anyone care to venture a guess what is going on? I have my own suspicion, but want to hear other opinions. |

Or broken wires by the steering head. '06 was really susceptible to wire harness damage in the steering head area. Another thread by Xbimmer: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/465647.html |

There are 2 cold solder joints just above the guide in the main loom on left front. 1 multi joint is tan wires for turn signals. Another multi joint is red power wires. Can be difficult to find wire broken inside of its insulated covering.best to cut out joint and redo with short extension. I have some pics if u need, pinpointing location. Start with redo of the ground bundle as that is very simple. |

Ooooh, I know this one! My 09 does this now, though I have not put in the work to fix it. For me it is a matter of the key being just a hair too far toward run. When I turn off the bike, I leave my turn signal "on" so I know right away if it's happened again with the next start. The solution for me is just to nudge the key forward a jingle. Given my luck taking the bike apart, I'm going to stick with the nudge method until it stops working. I have not had the lights quit while running, only on start-up (pre nudge). |

I ended up removing my ignition switch, separating the switch from the key-lock, then cleaning and re-greasing the switch. You don't know it, but you are losing the tail light too. After working on a lot of other stuff I finally recognized that nudging the key would fix the problem. |
