Im looking for a 2008 X. Some of these bikes have been through several owners without a paper trail. Is there a way to visually identify the 2010 3 Bearing wheel? Thanks! |

The axle is not a sure-thing as it now superceded the old axle and works on both 2 and 3 bearing wheels. 3 bearing wheel is easily recognized by the external dust seal over the bearing. If you can see the outer race of the bearing, it is a 2 bearing wheel. If you only see a dust seal, it's a 3 bearing wheel. |

For sure the old axle doesn't work on a 2010 wheel... http://www.147db.com/tech/axles.jpg |

I think he means you can use the new rear axle on the old two bearing wheels. I didn't experiment when I swapped mine over. Are the inside diameters of the bearings the same? |
