So my late 07 uly has the expensive tps and I think the second one is failing. Anybody ever re-drilled the throttle shaft to orient the pin to fit the 93 mustang gt tps? | ||

Good question, not sure if they would interchange even with reorienting the TP Sensor drive pin. But, if you're going to go through that much trouble. Why not buy a Tootal replacement throttle shaft. I've never seen an 07 throttle body so I don't know how the sensor attaches as far as screw location etc. When I converted the shafts to work on both years I only had a broken 07 shaft and not the whole TB. | ||

Thanks Brankin! That says it all. Casting is the same so it should work with an 07 shaft and 07 sensor. However there is more than just pin location. The 07 shaft is turned down to 7mm where it fits into the tps sensor so there must be a difference in diameter of the sensor also. Hard to tell from the picture, just saying the shaft is different.  | ||

Although it says 6 and 12 o-clock it's not exactly that. It's a few degrees off but I don't remember how much. I made a drill fixture so they are all the same. I wouldn't try drilling it yourself if you don't have the exact angle, the sensor might not have enough movement to compensate for error. | ||

It may be a better idea to chew at the soft plastic housing of the sensor. | ||

Last time I had it apart, it didn't look like there was enough material in there to gnaw away at and worble it out to accept the other pin style. a trip to the auto parts store is in order If there's not enough material I guess one could add some. it'd be a lot easier to mold the replacement tps to accept the 07 shaft pin with some epoxy and mold release agent (Pam spray) | ||

I've never tried to sell any of these shafts, only let people know they are available. I've even talked a couple of guys out of getting one since they seemed to only ride locally. If you look at how many have failed compared to how many were sold it's a small percentage. As I've said before, I haven't even changed mine yet! However, in this case I would recommend a shaft if you are going to change to the 07 sensor. The shafts have both sets of holes in them so you can use either tps sensor. Between the two items you shouldn't have to deal with the throttle body for a long long time. I'm surprised the old tps went bad as I'm still on my original at 50,000 miles. | ||

its either the TPS or my fuel pump wiring repair was only a temporary fix. hard to tell now because it hasn't acted up on me since I posted last week. I really cant fix it if it ain't broke | ||

i used in-tank fuel line for my stihl chainsaw as the protective sheath for my wires on the fuel pump. tough and fuel resistant- however never run ethanol in my stihl | ||

pulled the fuel pump before a looooong road trip and I think I fixed it. replaced the fuel strainer, filter, and in-tank line. it also starts on the first crank/attempt now I think the cause of my issues all along was the corrugated fuel hose had rubbed thru and was causing a low fuel pressure/flow condition. couldn't get the OEM style corrugated fuel line so I improvised with some 225#, ethanol rated rubber fuel hose and kept it from pinching itself closed on the tight radius bend by stuffing a spring inside it. i'm not as dumb as I come across I don't know why I keep thinking that the TPS is the cause of my running issues. i'll blame it on the troubleshooting flowchart  | ||
