Are the torque #s the same for the 2010 three bearing axle as the 2009 two bearing - i.e. 25#, back off 2 full turns, then 50#? HD dealer apparently over-torqued axle at last tire change and crushed dust seal on rotor side - bearings are very tight and hard to turn with thumbs. Should they be replaced? | ||

If he crushed the dust seal, he probably forgot to install the spacer on that side. Torque spec is the same. I do find the bearings on my 3-bearing wheel harder to turn than they were on the 2-bearing wheel. | ||

I think you're right - he probably forgot the spacer on install, then found it and reinstalled with spacer in place. I can't turn the bearings with my fingers at all. I installed the wheel and spacer without the belt - the wheel only spins a couple of turns and makes a noise that doesn't sound right. I don't trust it so looking at replacing all the bearings - should the inside spacer also be replaced? | ||

I'd say measure it but we apparently don't have a length spec for the 2010 spacer. Probably best to replace it. Better get dust seals too. | ||
