Hey guys, I need to empty the garage because of a new ride. And the Buell has to go. I am wondering if i should sell bike? Or part it out? What would get me more? What is a honest asking price? Has bags and topcase with LED's. EBR race ECM, Buell race muffler, Madstad adjustable windscreen with Aluminum fly screen, Low and high seats, Buell tank bag wired for power, handle bar bag, new Michelin road tires, new brakes and low mileage on the belt. Adding pics but she has been cleaned up since the road trip you will see in pics. Thanks all for the help. |

How many miles? Did you upgrade the rear wheel (3 bearing)? From what I've seen posted about the internet. You could expect to get between 3500 and 4500 bucks, all in. Parting out would likely not gain much more $$$ (low end) and, would result in a lot of hassle for you, shipping. |

Failed to include mileage. About 75K I didn't change out the wheel. Wheel bearings replaced on each tire replacement. |

For perspective, in 2012 I paid $3500 for an 06, full HB luggage, comfort kit, low seat and 76k miles. Please don't part it out! These bikes are too awesome to be torn down to parts, especially one that is road worthy. |

Man, it's you property so ultimately the choice is yours. That said, if you're not in dire financial circumstances I second Red450. Every year the population of these bikes diminish and it would be a crying shame to see another one disappear. If you're good financially, the relatively small gain you would get parting it out just hurts the shrinking Buell community. I'd sell it to someone with some mechanical skills looking for that patented shit eating Buell grin. My $.02 |

Fordhotline, where are you located? I've been toying with the idea of another Uly but haven't committed to anything yet. (Message edited by red450 on May 29, 2017) |

Any chance you still have the factory ECM? As of last night my 06 is throwing a 53 code. ECM ROM Failure. |

Ouchbri, There is a good chance that the only thing wrong with the '06 ECM is the solder connections (PCB) for the terminals are cracked. They can be repaired... There used to be more photos. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/726411.html?1334338510 |

Just some input. I saw a high mileage one go for $1500.. it had 100'000 factory race ECM and pipe. No bags. |

Thanks Teeps! I got my 06 with a relocated factory race ECM already installed. The symptoms are sporadic motor cutout and CEL. It started last summer as once in a blue moon and the cut out was really short. Now its almost predictable and it cutout for about 5 seconds yesterday, finally got a stored code. Maybe I'll crack it open and see whats going on in there. Would be nice if that was the fix. |

At this point, you have nothing to lose by opening the "black box." |

Once the ECM is removed, hold the main body in your hand firmly and try to bend/move the casing around the connector terminal. You can see in many cases that there will be movement and that the potting holding the connector in the main unit is cracked. Water intrusion is next. Once this joint starts moving, the soldered joints work harden and crack. Jason |
