Hello guys. Itīs been a long time since I last posted around here.
Initially I would like to apologize if this is not the right department of the forum for this kind of message. If itīs not please redirect it to where it belongs.

Iīll start from the very beginning to provide you with detailed information. My ride is a 2008 XB12x Ulysses with an Y0152.1AM ECM that came from factory with BUE1D firmware.

The EEPROM had been previously remaped, Iīd say two years ago. Recently, two months ago, I started dataloging myself to try to improve its mappings as I felt there was room to it as the bike did not run very smooth. Right after I started uploading new fuel maps to it, I realized some changes I was making were not taking place in the ECM memory. Lets say I changed one value in one cell on the fuel map, then burned it. After, when I fetched it back to the computer, I realized my change did not take place. The burning procedure completes successfully it doesnt matter if Im using TunerPro, ECMSpy (which I have paid version) or ECMDroid. However, it seems the ECM "ignored" what has been burned to it and sticked with the old data.
Well, that make me think: "This ECM got bricked, let me have a new one."
So I found a Y0152.1AMA for sale on Ebay, that is different from the one I had stock Y0152.1AM. But the .1AMA should be OK for my bike, itīs just a matter of part number updating at Harley.
This "new" ECM came from a 2009 1125CR with BUE2D firmware on it. The seller was the actual owner of the motorcycle and told me it ran smoothly in his bike.
When I got the new ECM plugged it in my Uly and got quite scared right after turned on the key: CEL came on and the engine fan started running intermittently. Run for 3 seconds, stop 5 seconds, run for 3 seconds and so on.
I connected it to TunerPro and fetched the eeprom and realized it was, accordingly, a 1125 mapping. Fuel map for example had RPM values up to 11.000rpm almost. So I loaded a XB12 BUE2D map to TunerPro and uploaded it to the ECM. Again, the upload process completed successfully. But unfortunately after burning I fetched it to test and no data has been written to ECM! Itīs stick with the 1125CR mapping.

Now I ask you guys. How come I cannot write data to both ECMs? I dont know one single person that had this same problem so I really canīt realize I have two ECMs with the same kind of brick. I just can belive there is something else going on but just cant figure out what that could be. Already tried 2 different BT dongles and 1 serial cable. Tried ECMDroid. Tried TunerPro and ECMSpy on 2 different laptop computers.

Please any advice will be of big help.

You will need to reach out to idspd.com for their opinion. Worst case, they will need to fix it for you.

Hugie thanks. Tried reaching them but they cant help me out.

I have just made some tests and realized something that may be relevant:

ECM loses the values I upload when I cycle ignition off after uploading. But I could ensure it receives the new data, it is just unable to record them after power is cut.

With engine running I disabled closed loop idle and burned changes to ECM. Immediately I saw EGO correction stoped, which proves the ECM received the information I sent to it. However after that I turned engine off and cycled ignition off and on, turned engine on again and realized EGO was acting, closed loop idle was enabled again.

Not sure if this helps so much, but Im affraid I have an electrical issue on the bike and not on the ECM itself.

How did you make out Mario? Was it electrical or ECM? I have a short acting up in the neck of my bike now. When it turn the wheel left to right, the gauges all cycle but it will only do it once.

Hugie03 and others, hi.

I have found where the problem was and could easily fix it. Iīm very happy it wasnīt anything hard or expensive to fix.

There is a 3-pin Deutsche connector that sits below/besides the fuse housing of the Uly. One of the wires from the connector was aparently rubbing against some metal part of the bike and this made the wire become aparent. The wire protection went off and this possibly shorted all this to ground.
So it was just a matter of repairing the damaged part of the wire to make things work again. ECM itself was and is perfect yet, no problem with it.

Color of the wire rubbed through?

You can see where I fixed the wire because itīs black from the liquid electrial tape I used on it.
