Cyclops for your high beam. http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/H7-3200-lume n-LED-Headlight-bulb_p_86.html PIAA makes some good paint melting additional driving lights also. |

Silverstars are to be avoided. They burn out too quick. I would suggest a lightbar and driving lights. I have mine slaved off of my high beam wire with a cute little relay. I put a switch on that to disable it if I want to. Like if I'm running a heated liner at night, the charging system can't really keep up. |

Like if I'm running a heated liner at night, the charging system can't really keep up. I have a similar setup, using two cheap driving lights from my local auto parts store. I mounted them on pieces of 2" x 2" x 1/8" steel angle suspended from the blinkers: I actually bought two new pieces of stainless angle to replace these (which are starting to peel and rust) and I'm planning to upgrade to some LED driving lights when I do that. John, I use the Cyclops in my high beam, and a Philips halogen in my low beam. PIAA driving lights onboard also. Installing the Cyclops was a bit of work. I had to remove the plugs for the standard H-7, and solder them back together outside the housing. The original plugs attach to a driver unit that zip-tied nicely on the horizontal metal rail above the lights behind the flyscreen. Inside the boot the lamp has an attached fan that takes up some space. Next I pushed the cord from the bulb through the boot to plug in to the other side of the driver. I called Cyclops and their guy said the driver unit and plugs are completely weatherproof, BTW. With that bulb and the PIAA's it becomes day again. |

5700k seems too far into the blue range. Sure, it looks bright, but what is out there that shows up well in blue shifted lighting? For oncoming riders/drivers, the glare from a 5700k light can be a significant problem. I've gone with a 4000k HID from DDM tuning. Light color is pretty neutral and the low beam is now so effective that I only switch the high beam on out of curiosity. It is really no longer necessary. |

You are correct Mark. This is why it is on the high beam, with the driving lights as well. On the low side, there is only a Philips halogen. High beam has no trouble seeing "what is out there" but it's not on for oncoming drivers. |

Auxbeam F-16's $56. They are led's and will last 15x's longer then Halogens so they will pay for themselves if you are planning to keep your bike. Take em out if you sell it.
