2009 Ulyssess XB12XT The left side (clutch side) headlight is BOTH my low beam and high beam. The right side headlight doesn't even come on. When I turn the high beam on or if I hit the 'passing switch' the headlight on the left gets brighter but nothing happens on the right side. I can't find anyone else with this setup. I'm guessing this bike has been modded by previous owner? Does anyone know what mod this is? Admittedly the bulb appears fairly bright actually. It's not LED or HID. It has a filament in it. I want to put this back to stock, then add in LED bulbs in both headlights and then do the dual lamp mod - BUT I'm not so sure if I follow the DIY's it might not work for me as I have a non-stock setup it appears. Your thoughts? I have a good understanding of electrical but I am thrown for a loop as I can't find evidence of anyone else with this setup. |

Never heard of that. If I was going to make that mod (well, I wouldn't, but if somebody made me) I would have done the least invasive install possible. So I would have gone to the wiring harness right where it goes into the back of the bulbs, cut the wires there, spliced on a new connector for the one dual filiment bulb, and connected it to said dual filament bulb. No messing with the switch or anything else, and only minor disassembly. So follow the wires out of that bulb and see if you can find a splice added on. Hopefully the other bulb still has the connector and remnants of the cut wire attached to the bulb, but probably not. They probably replaced that bulb with something else (maybe an uber HID or something) but pulled it before they gave it to you. Maybe that side has it's own new connector, and wiring heading up to some kind of switch squirreled away somewhere, or wiring stubbed off ready for a switch to go in. That setup could work for a low beam, high beam (combined), and "melt paint" beam setup. Which could be kind of neat. You would need another switch though. |

Sounds like time to yank the headlamp out to see what was butchered |
