The "Burner" driving lights I bought for ~$20 at my local Advance Auto Parts store a few years back and put on my Uly are looking a little rough (rusty housings and rubber boots torn up), so I was thinking of updating them. There seem to be a thousand listings on ebay for 18W, 6-LED "driving/spot/fog" lights. They list for around $20/pair. They look kind of cool, and I found a couple of decent youtube reviews for them. They seem OK; has anyone tried them? They look like this:
There's also a supplier that advertises on ADVrider. They claim their LED driving lights are much higher quality, but the price is commensurate: around ~$150/pair. Any experience/opinions on either of these? |

Not personally, but a guy on the DR650 forum I use just installed a set of the ebay lights you are talking about. The thread isn't that old, but he has some good pictures showing how much more light they produce compared to just the stock headlight. Link below if you are interested. http://drriders.com/topic15001.html |

Happy to help. I just installed a 10W LED Spotlight on my DR650 (picture below). I considered lights like the ones you posted, but they stick out too far and would likely get damaged on the trails I take my DR on...that's not as much of an issue on the Uly. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/mini-auxi liary-lights/10w-mini-aux-2in-modular-led-off-road -work-light/1699/

^ That looks like another good possibility. Here's my current setup: Closeup of bracket: The brackets are 1" long pieces of 2" x 2" x 1/8" steel angle. After 8 years of use, the paint is chipped up and they're starting to rust, so I just got two new pre-cut pieces of 304 stainless angle from Online Metals to use as replacements. I just need to drill them for the turn signal stalks and whatever lights I use. |

There's a guy over on ADV that made a batch of lightbars for the Uly. I bet he still has some. They were (are) the best setup I've seen. I bought one a few years ago for like $27? I can't remember. |

I know it's not an auxiliary light but I'm switching to the Cyclops led H7 headlights this weekend. Other reviews here claim they are as good as some auxiliary lights. I'll do some before and after shots when I'm done. |
