My 06 is at 40ish thousand, fan was replaced sometime under warranty, it sounded funny but never failed.   Hughlysses Posted on Friday, August 28, 2015 - 09:24 pm:        The fan in my 07 outlasted the original engine at 30k miles, but I went ahead and installed a new replacement while I had the bike apart. The original fan on my '06 crapped out August last year. Made clickity, clickity noise for about 6 years, louder during the cool down phase. Way back it was making weird sounds and I bought a new one but I think it was just some leaves got back there and finally dried out enough to depart on their own. No problem since. Mine has been sounding funny since early this season and finally died a couple of weeks ago.
