Hi Sagehawk, funny that you saw my ID as DKWRACER, yes in my youth my 2nd bike was a 100cc DKW (land of 1000 neutrals) with Earles front end, that was in Santa Monica where I grew up, rode Marina Del Rey, Baldwin hills, Lancaster, Mohave etc. even rode a Dalesman 125 in the Funky Pumpkin Enduro (Lucerne Valley) in the 70's..fast forward...Rode vintage MX (Penton) for many years..still have a few Pentons....Current stable: KLR650, Harley FXLR 1990,Concours C10,ULY.....Enjoy!!! A FXLR? Is that the frame Erik helped with? I thought he did some frame design when working for them. Been too long to recollect! It's still probably the best handling big twin frame they've made. Welcome Dkwracer, my 06 is still serving me well. Ever need a Throttle body shaft let me know. Enjoy! |

DKWRacer: that was the only way my left handiness, ocd, middle aged brain saw that moniker. I was still in school and dad worked with a guy that had a 125 penton and a rickman-metisse framed Zundapp. he invited me to go ride on a hare scrambles put on by a local enduro club. the penton was a blast and he let me take a lap afterwards on the rickman. I swear to gosh that shift lever had a minimum of 5 inches of travel if it had one. the only impressive thing about that bike was the finish of the nickel plated frame and the fiberglass body work. He was one of those precision riders where i just grew up running over or thru whatever was in the way. Yes, I have run over 3 people in my career. the funniest was me running over my wife. I never understood people that stopped in middle of trail. that was a gosh darn moment. |

Tootal: can i pm you to get info for one of those throttle body shafts? I seem to be stockpiling small items, muffler clamps, gaskets, idle cables, etc. You just never know. Thanks guy! |
