I really liked my Buell Deluxe tank bag when I first bought it, the fit and utility was perfect for my needs. Like most though we found the main zipper was junk for the long haul and after about 1-2 years and 30-40K I gave up and shelved it. Couple weeks ago my wife and I took an awesome rainy overnight ride through the mountains, since we were planning on extra gear I dusted off the bag and useless zipper and all we headed out. I'd forgotten how much I liked the thing, it holds a surprising amount of stuff. I used the rain cover and to keep it from lofting I simply fold up 2" of the bottom and cinch it tight, works fine. So we decided to look into a new tank bag. I like the Wolfman line, but right now the cost is a bit out of reach. So I called around and found a local luggage shop that told me they'd take a look. Girl there said they could fix it so I left it with them. Three weeks and $45 later I got it back, and I'm beyond satisfied!
This is the zipper these should have had. Pics don't do justice to the quality of her work, and that luggage-quality YKK zipper should outlast the rest of the bag. A Wolfman will just have to wait a while. sounds like SoCal pricing.. I'm thinking I could have it done at my zipper guy for 1/2 that.. Oh wait- my guy totally screwed up my Aerostich.. had to take it to Duluth to get right.. so maybe that price is great. |

Very, very nice. Good work, both of you, you for taking the initiative to revive the bag you love and Kristy for quality work. Thanks and enjoy. |

Beautiful work! And a nice price too. Great bag, I have a Wolfman and I wish it would have the side pockets as this bag has. |

$45 is a great price for good work. I had the zipper replaced on my Buell jacket for the same price, and that's east cost prices. |

Timely thread. After 39k or so miles in any weather imaginable, The zipper on mine gave up the ghost last summer. The bag has been shelved since the end of my mn adventure. Thanks for posting the repair persons info. Sending it to someone who is familiar with the bag and has a clue which zipper is best for said bag is a huge plus. |
