Has anyone rode or owned both? My first endeavor to adventure bikes is the Capo. I've been riding it all summer and am impressed. I was never interested in these types of bikes before but have come around. Now I'm thinking I might prefer a Uly. Has anyone owned or at least road both? Comparisons appreciated. |

It's been a few years since I've ridden a Caponord, but here are a few observations. The XB12X is lighter and narrower, notably. The Ulysses handles better. Fuel economy is better with the Buell as well, but not by a lot, four or five mpg (depending on Uly vintage). The Buell's suspension is far superior to the stock Aprilia parts, but those could be readily upgraded. The Aprilia powerplant is much smoother at lower rpm and is also more tractable at lower speeds. The Aprilia's larger diameter front wheel is a significant advantage in soft stuff and on rocky surfaces. |

Thanks for the insight Mark. I used to have an XB12S, so I guess I should be asking how it differs from the Uly. I really liked it but a guy offered to trade me his CR even up and I couldnt resist. So if the Uly is like the 12S I think id probably like it better then the Capo. (Message edited by figorvonbuellingham on October 27, 2014) |

The Ulysses has much more low-down grunt. Buy the Uly! |
