I have searched this and other forums looking for a few tips on installing the seat pan. I installed the comfort kit and seem to have gotten it back in then. Just cannot seem to do it this time. Already broke a tab off the pan getting it out. Besides my being a dope, what is the deal?

Not the seat itself but the plastic, under-the-seat pan. Had to install a new fan. Found the instructions on how to do that. How could the trunk pan be more difficult to install than that fan? But somebody had written up perfect instructions on doing that.

Does it go in from the bottom? Top? One side first and then the other? I have tried everything...

I think you are referring to the plastic cover that shrouds the top of the monoshock. It can be a bear. Mine broke either taking it off or reinstalling (can't recall which) so I just used aluminum foil tape to hold it all together. Could have been designed better for us bumblers to have to mess with.

for that underseat plastic to go in the triple tail must slide back ( read be removed) and then that panel slides in from the rear...tabs sliding over frame rails...Its a real PITA

It's a little more pliable when warm.
Expose it to direct sunlight for a few hours.

OK, thanks guys. I think sliding the tail section back and softening up the plastic makes sense. I'll try doing both and report back...

Thanks,
Bill

The instructions I have say to remove the left side sub-frame rail, which I did, and it it made it a little easier to install that piece. I have a 2006, so not sure it is going to offer much heat improvement. I'm considering wiring in a manual button for the fan, as well.

Jstav2012 is spot on. that's what the repair manual says, but I am sure I got in in before without removing that rail. Anyway, the rail comes off in less than 5 minutes. Worth taking the time to remove it for ease of trunk pan install.

Thanks, guys,
Bill
