When I roll the bike (06)after picking it off the side stand I'm getting a clicking sound from around the front sprocket and tensioner. I did mount a new rear tire last fall. I need to jack it up and take a look, belt looks fine. |

I had no idea of bad wheel bearings untill i Backed bike out of garage one day heading to work. It made a slight sound like that and i put it up, took truck. Next day, jacked bike up pulled wheel and sure nuff, right bearing wasnt any good. The smallest of things will tell a tale. |

I hope not I put in new bearings last tire change. And I haven't had a chance to ride much since then. |

My Uly has always made that "clicking" sound. I seriously doubt is has anything to do with the bearings. I have a 1-month old 2010 Wheel on the Uly, and it still sounds the same. The sound appears to come from somewhere near the front pulley, as far as I can tell. Since it has been doing that since day one, and I've never had an issue with anything in that general vicinity, I never gave it much mind, and assumed it was normal. |

Same here... probably very common on Ulys. I was able to clean up a "notchy" rear wheel bearing by re-lubing it and it made no difference for the clicking sound when I back the bike out of the garage. |

Based on my own research I believe this noise people are hearing is most likely the drive belt clicking or snapping into place on the smaller front sprocket. It should be totally benign. |

That makes sense to me Thanks Tempest. |

That's where the noise is coming from, just never did ir before. But I like benign. |

This is probably different but fyi, if you hear clicking while using the front brake or hitting a bump it is your steering head bearings. I don't think that's it from what you describe, just a head up for future reference. |

I only hear it pushing it around the garage. |

I spent some time in my garage today with this... I think its actually the initial pressure of the belt "popping", or "moving" on the front pulley from the initial movement of the bike. It just "sounds" like clicking... much like a wet hand on an inner-tube, so to speak. In short, it's the rubber (of the belt) sliding across the steel of the front pulley at high pressure. After it gets moving, it balances out, and stops... That's my observation anyway... |
