But I have the yellow EFI indicator light coming on as normal when I turn the key to start. But it has come on intermittently while riding a few times now and then gone off. I'm looking for suggestions as to where to start looking, and what level of concern I should have. IIRC, it was amber at some point. If it has a picture of a V-twin...it's the CEL/EFI light. If it has a picture of a fuel pump...well...   Etennuly Posted on Friday, August 01, 2014 - 09:04 am:        I cannot be sure on the '08's, but there were issues with the earlier Uly's steering head main wire bundle having a three wire splicer break, the front of the steering head has a ground wire that was commonly breaking, and the fuel pump wires wearing through to a sharp edge inside the fuel tank on the fuel pump housing.   Kublak Posted on Friday, August 01, 2014 - 01:49 pm:        Definitely not fuel, it's the EFI indicator with the V-twin. I'll start with the ECM and see if it yields any clues.   Hughlysses Posted on Friday, August 01, 2014 - 02:50 pm:        It seems like the most common cause of intermittent check engine lights is a faulty exhaust servo. That's where I'd start looking. Remove outer airbox cover so you can see the servo, which sits on the inner airbox cover. Flip kill switch to "off", turn ignition on, twist throttle wide open and hold. While watching the servo, flip the kill switch to "run". Servo should cycle fully open, pause, and then go back to fully closed. If it doesn't move, or if it hesitates part-way through the cycle, the gears are likely stripped and the servo is bad. New one will cost you ~$150 and is easy to swap.
