Wow. I've seen quite a few filters off of cars that had 20,000 + miles on them that looked nothing like that. Jeez.

I think I'd give it 500 miles max and do another oil and filter change. That's a safe way to "flush" nasties out of an engine crankcase.

we changed it again after 200 miles while the engine was still hot....you really wouldn't believe the crud that was in the oil....I honestly can't believe the car is still running....says something for Toyota

Why I use Toyota filters on my Buell.

Krabykarl,
I noticed that my Prius oil filter will screw right on the ULY but wasn't sure of the spring pressure comparison between the stock ULY filter and the Prius filter. Which Toyota filter do you use and how long have you been using it?

What model and year Toyota?, some of the V-6's had issues with sludge build-up, 20% design, 80% customer failure to do routine oil changes…
Toyota factory filters are some of the best in the industry, the drain back valves are especially good. Great thing about Toyota filters, there are only a few part numbers to fit the entire product line.
How long should you be using an oil filter…( oil thread spoiler alert) your mileage may vary, but generally speaking, 3-5K miles is typically for oil filter changes with Dino.
I haven't look to see what filter lines up with Buell, but if the Prius filter "fits" it is Toyota's most common filter ( fits most 4 cylinders) and is in my opinion an excellent filter. Bit pricey, but a good filter !

The Toyota engineers put that wax in the engine to protect the finish of the metal parts.

Jeeze! I wonder how the valve cover looks like.
Probably:
