I read an old archived post about shorting pins 1 & 2 on the diagnostics plug to see what the ECU error code is but I'm wondering if that information is valid for the 2008 Uly XT. The later model bike has a DFFI3 ECU and there is a diag port underneath the seat that delivers TTL level digital signals to a computer or analyzer. This is different than the information in the older post that references a four pin diag port at the steering head of the bike. I'm certainly not going to short any pins without knowing for sure what they are and am confident that shorting them will not fry something. Anyone know if there is a valid "light flashes error code" procedure for the 2008 Uly? and what is that procedure? |

Yep that is correct port and procedure. Full list of codes here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=2360318#POST2360318 |

Awesome! The only other question is whether the last error code reported is persistent. IOW, if the light is no longer on will the ECU still hold the last error code, which happened while riding several days prior? |

Codes remain in memory for 50 starts till they are automatically cleared if the issue no longer presents itself. |
