Correction. I went out to the bike and see that I did unbolt the hard bag frame from the footpeg bracket. Just one screw. |

I take the clear plastic tackle boxes with dividers in them (a parts supplier sends us stuff in Flambeau Tuff Tainer utility boxes with Zerust so I get a few spares every so often). I put everything in to them with a tag or some small written description of what it is and work the little compartments from front to back, left to right, filling it with the fasteners that come off. Once I'm done with the rotation down, I fix what I came for and then start the process in reverse, pulling fasteners from right to left, back to front until the container is empty. Just one way to skin the cat. I'm sure there are others. |

so I know that I have to drain the oil for rotation, but what about the crank case??? the manual doesn't say anything about it but I am currently looking at a top end rebuild here. |

Don't really have to drain any oil, I've had it down twice (far enough for a rocker box gasket job) and did it without removing any oil lines or drain any oil. |

I didn't drain the oil either. |

I also failed to unplug the fuel injection electrical plug and run the engine out of fuel like recommended in the service manual. Nothing at all happened when I disconnected the fuel line. I did wear a pair of glasses when I disconnected it and there wasn't any pressure. |
