Picked up a new to me 06 Uly in Pennsacola Fl. Saturday around noon. Rode a little over 500 miles to Sweetwater Tn. and stopped for the night. Ran great, no issues other than noticing slight leak on the front right fork bleeder screw ( will look into that right away). Sunday, took her thru the Dragon and man does this bike like the curves!! On ride home to middle Tn noticed several times that anytime I was in a no load situation and RPM's at 3000 or below, she started to buck and fart until I hit the throttle, then smoothed right out. I am new to the Buell brand and would appreciate any thoughts as to where to start

Start with a TPS reset, and like you say plugs. On the 06 you need the ECM spy app and dongle.

The bluetooth setup works nicely with an android phone or tablet.

Yea start with that. Mine had the same symptoms and checked codes and had a code for pcm fault, so I replaced the pcm and still had same symptoms and engine light, rechecked codes and had a Throttle Position sensor code, replaced that and all is well. Funny thing is the faulty pcm did not have the tps code.

If you built the bluetooth modem version of the ECMSpy cable, and you knew you were only going to use it on your own bike, you could do it pretty cheaply by just permanently splicing it into your ECM diagnostic connector harness.

Thinking about it now, I bet it could even be a zero extra part install... I bet there is a regulated 5v output available from the ECM already.

Turns out upon further inspection the previous owner or the dealership in Pensacola had disconnected the wires from the exhaust valve actuator. Funny thing that I did not get a code in over 500 miles of riding and it ran great until it decided to throw a code. Reconnected wires to actuator. It works intermittenly....have ordered new actuator from American Sport Bikes.

Newtouly, do you have the Drummer exhaust? Part of that exhaust system includes gutting the valve, so the actuator should be disconnected because it won't do anything.

I am having the same problem you are experiencing, though. Did plugging in your actuator fix the problem?

I'm having this same issue on my 07 Uly. Replaced plugs and wires this past weekend, with no obvious improvement. I even checked my exhaust actuator using the engine on-off-on trick (it will visibly move upon inspection with the air cover removed) and it was working fine. Had a Dealership hook up a brand new ecm and run the TPS reset (I had done this myself with the previous ecm using ecmspy with no change as well). Opened primary and checked flywheel nut (solid; and the interior of the primary was clean as new) and checked primary chain tension (good). I'm running out of ideas, but I'm thinking my next step is just to get a new TPS, as this seems to be most peoples go to response for this issue (there are tons of posts on this subject; and sorry for all the parentheses...). Despite the issue it still runs like a champ, and like you said, when on the throttle it has bags of power. Another Uly owner once told me that the gearing in the lower gears (where this issue seems to be the worst for me) is super tall, and can feel awkward, but I'm not sold on that being the issue... Good luck, and hope checking some of things I mentioned in my process might help you out!
