I was hesitant on moving the shock to get at the fan. It went pretty easy and was not the hardest part of the job.

The O2 Sensor that I payed more than twice what I should have from American Sportbike came in the Bosch box and is Bosch #12014 just like the part that Nobuell got for $18. I appreciate that American Sportbike carries all these parts but that $18 part cost me near $50 to get it to my home in Nebraska. I really don't buy the excuse that the part cost that much from Harley because American Sportbike is not Harley. I made the mistake of not researching the part before I ordered it and that is my fault.
By the way, if you need a ULY spark plug and have a non-Buell Harley dealer near you then just ask for a spark plug for a 2009 V-Rod because it is the stock ULY plug.

I've thought that same thing...

Next time walk into your local car parts shop and tell them you need an 02 sensor for a Buell, and give them the year and model. They might be able to help you, they might give you the blank stare (most likely), or they might think they can help you but give you a part that at best wastes your time and at worst wastes your engine.

When I want to turn something into a project, I do a bunch of searching and research and thinking and measuring and can often get a stupid good deal on parts from some random third party. I often waste ridiculous amounts of time.

When I want to just "solve the stupid problem" and get on with my life, I pick up the phone, call Al, describe my problem, and give him my credit card. I won't get the best possible price, I will get fantastic service and world class expertise.

Not to sound egotistic, but there is a very small number of people on the planet that know more about Buell's than I do. Al is not only one of those people, but he is probably one of those people that knows an order of magnitude more about them than I do.

Wait until you find out how much cheaper that VRod spark plug was if you bought it off the shelf at Autozone instead of at your Harley dealer. ; )

Reepicheep,
The point is that you don't walk into Autozone and ask for a Buell part. You do a search on the "internets" and find out from others if there is a part available that can be had at a car parts joint and then show up there with the part name and number. In this case the Bosch O2 sensor 12014 is the exact sensor with the proper connector and everything. I really doubt that Al at AmericanSportbike is paying much more than an auto parts store to have that sensor on his shelf. He surely wouldn't be sourcing that part from Harley. Bless him for dealing in Buell parts but in some cases, like this sensor, his price is way too high. And I didn't ask American Sportbike how to change out the sensor I just put in the order so I didn't need to be paying extra for anybody's knowledge or time.

Amazon has Bosch 12014 for $13.84, free 2 day prime shipping if you are a prime member.

http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-12014-Oxygen-Sensor-Fi tment/dp/B0009IK7YC

If you do some research you might be able to find a cheaper brand like Autozone, but I am too lazy for that.

As for American Sport Bike, yea sometimes you pay more than buying elsewhere, sometimes you pay less, but either way you get the great service and the option to give Al a call if you ever need to. Best part is that he usually has what you need in stock, especially things that don't have automotive crossovers like fans and belts. Most dealers and most other online shops would take a week or two to get you the parts, if they can get them at all.

Edit - Just looked, you do save on the getting the O2 sensor from American Sport Bike vs a dealer, the OEM part is $50.
