The suspension is Showa so it shoulden't be to hard to find. |

Front or rear suspension? Look on the Race Tech site or call them. (Message edited by teeps on February 24, 2014) |

Yes, suggest you find a shop nearby that does suspension, and work through them. The Showa parts are readily available for anyone that knows there way around a fork and shock. I had my fork seals done at a local BMW shop, and they just ordered the parts via Parts Unlimited. I've also used a local guy who runs out of his basement shop (Cogent Dynamics) for my KTM's WP suspension. He even ran it on a shock dyno for me. He handled all the WP parts on that one, so I don't even know where he got them. I think an H-D dealer would be my absolute last option for something like this. |

We don't "have it", in the sense that it isn't a stocked item on the web site. But like other OEM BUELL parts, I can get it. I try (and sometimes fail ) to keep the stuff on the web site in stock, but stuff like this takes a couple weeks. But it's an active part and readily available at this time. I wouldn't call it a generic showa part (i.e. like a bushing, or seal, or such), it's specific to this particular showa fork (length specific, I'd think). Al |

You could buy a mostly straight fork with a scuffed leg and use it for parts. |

Barry, We don't charge until we ship anyway. So if you call me and have me order it now, it'll be here by the time you need to pay for it. Al |

And if they have it in stock they're as fast at shipping as anybody in the business. 2 days from California to Colorado. Thanks Al! |

Barry, Is this because you couldn't get the snap ring off? Maybe some one else can learn from our mistakes if we both explain our experiences. I mangled the top of my damping rod assy when (from your description in the other thread you started) I came into the same predicament. The fork cap was still on the tube and the damping rod/preload adjuster threads were stuck in the fork cap and I couldn't unthread it with normal torque. So (wanting to follow the service manual's numbered steps ) I twisted harder until the brass screwdriver slot failed. I eventually got it apart when I skipped ahead a few steps in the service manual and took off the fork cap from the tube. Then I could put a wrench on the bottom side if the assy and unscrew it from the fork cap. How did you finally get your fork dissasmbled ? |
