I bought one from them and it is somewhat spendy. I originally bought from a place in the UK but they emailed me and were out of stock. This is just my experience with mounting it. The bolt hole alignment that bolts under the passenger grab rail is off by about 3/16 inch. I had to spread it apart using my large bench vise. You have to take off your side racks and modify them to get the rear cargo rack in place to mount securely underneath. Mount the rear cargo rack then put the side racks back on. The side racks have 4 areas of contact. The passenger foot peg, the forward mount nearest the foot peg, and the U brace are what you are going to be left with. The mounting point on the side racks that is farthest to the rear is what you lose. The U brace that connects the side racks together in the back I had to straighten it out quite a bit using my large bench vise to then get it to line up with the side rack bolt holes. Once its all back together it feels rock solid but it took about 2 hrs and the meager instructions you get suck and are in German. I was able to read most of the instructions only because I lived in Germany for a while and picked up a enough of it to get through this. This was my experience with it and I suspect it has a lot to do with the factory stock side rscks but now that its on I am happy as I was able to put my wolfman tail bag on. thanks for the write up, I've been looking into getting the rear rack but I don't have the side racks, is that ok? is there any interconnections with the side racks? Thanks | ||

The fact that the rack didn't align properly would put me off buying one. If they're going to market something, manufacture it properly. Christ, it's like being back in the 70s and the rubbish there was on the market then. | ||

I have this rack with the matching Givi side racks on my Uly. I found the rack a pain to fit and the side racks needed a bit of bending to get them straight but once on it's a pretty good set-up. The most important thing when doing it all up is not to force anything as it is so easy to strip the threads in the tail section and/or grab handles. I got it because I prefer Givi luggage - the E21 side cases are top loading and no wider than the bars so that I can still filter through traffic. I already had a selection of larger Givi cases too. I'm in Simond's camp, running the Fehling racks with a variety of Givi bags, sides and top. Medi - the top rack is designed to work with or without the side racks. I've been running mine for 20,000km and no issues. Even with the Givi plate attached, I prefer the look of the Fehling/Givi setup to the H-B top rack. Personally, I think the H-B rack looks like a campground BBQ. The Fehling is marginally better looking, IMHO, and it's nice to be able to flip the beaver tail back. | ||

If you have no side racks it bolts up after the getting the rack aligned with the grab rail holes. |
